Good morning my Steemian family, hope everyone is doing well. I am happy to communicate with my lovely family through this wonderful contest theme "communication skills". I believe the little knowledge I have on it will help others.

Communication skills are very important in our personal and professional lives. This is the only skill that brings about peace in our internal and external environment, communication skill is the blueprint of success.

Do you agree with the statement "Communication skill is the power"? Why or why not?

I strongly agree with the statement. Is true that communication skill is power because our success lies in it. Whether in our houses or the society, the only thing that will make us prevail is our relationship with others, this relationship can not exist without effective communication.

So communication is the life wire that promotes us to succeed in our profession, for example, we can see how lecturers communicate with their students, pastors preach to their members, and leaders communicate with their followers all of them using effective different communication skills according to their field of study, which gives them power over their subject.

The only thing that gives you power over your subject is how you communicate with them which makes them understand you.

What makes politicians win an election? What makes pastors maintain and groom their members? What of the Imam in the mosque? The lectures in our institutions? All that makes these situations possible is through the process of persuasive communication skills.

There are many skills available, but the most powerful one is communication skills anyone who wants to succeed in life must know how to use these skills to change situations.

There are many examples where "communication skill is the power" that led to significant changes in my life and the environment.

We can see how the government has the power to use communication skills to pass a message that changes the situation in the country, the day the president of Nigeria was sworn into power, he used his communication skills to announce the removal of fuel subsidies and its stand and also change the living condition of the citizens of Nigeria.

How can one improve their communication skills?

One can improve his communication through the following.

Be a good listener, Understanding is what makes communication to be complete, the need to listen attentively is what will make the encoder understand what the recorder is saying.

Be anxious to learn more through reading and observation.

Always respect the speaker, that would enable you to see reasons why the message is important.

Feedback is an instrument used to major effective communication, always learn to give feedback for the communication to be complete.

Clarity, always make sure your message is devoid of some slang that will confuse the receiver.
