Assala-mu-alaaikum all of my dear steemian friends. Today I am present to participate in the weekly contest organized by respected @abdullahw2 sir and the topic of today's contest is about traditional dress of our country. I am very happy to participate in these wonderful contests weekly so I thank @abdullahw2 sir and at the same time I present my post on today's topic.

What traditional clothes are worn in our country?

Main and traditional clothes of Bangladesh are very much loved by all of us Bengalis and we wear these clothes on special days. Boys in Bangladesh wear Punjabi, pajama and in some cases shirt pant on some special days as traditional dress. On the other hand, on some traditional occasions or special days, girls wear sarees which increase their beauty many times. I myself like to wear saree as a traditional dress on special occasions. Since my childhood, I have seen girls wear sarees, blouses or in some cases three pieces on various occasions. But in this case Punjabi, pajama for boys and saree for girls fall under the traditional attire.

Is there a dress code followed at school, work or places of worship?

Yes, our Bangladesh follows the dress code in schools, workplaces or religious places. I myself, when I leave home for our college, I wear a certain dress which is compulsory for all. Moreover, I have seen that people in different workplaces wear a certain dress that shows the identity of that workplace. Also in various religious fields men wear Punjabi which is a traditional and circumcised dress. In my house my elder brother and my father wear Punjabi in religious occasions. And in this case, different places have different dress codes.

What kind of clothes do people wear in weddings including bride and groom clothes in our country?

In any wedding ceremony in our country the groom himself wears punjabi pajama because this day is a special day in people's life for which they wear this dress to observe this special day according to religious customs. Also girls wear saree in their wedding ceremony which I already mentioned is a traditional dress of girls in our country. Although there is no mention of compulsory wearing of any specific dress in our country but still according to old tradition both bride and groom wear their traditional dress in wedding ceremony in our country. In this case, other members present in the wedding ceremony also wear good clothes. In this case, there are differences in clothing, so it is not possible to specify their type of clothing.

What is my personal favorite traditional or modern dress and why?

My personal favorite traditional dress is saree and my personal modern dress is gown which I wear for almost every occasion. Usually I believe I wear gowns as a modern outfit for an event or a special day that I like a lot.

The main reason for liking saree is that it is a traditional dress of our country which is worn by the girls of our country without any special occasion and wearing this dress increases the beauty of girls more than other dresses. On the other hand the main reason for choosing the gown is that this dress is quite cozy and comfortable to wear during the cold weather, for which I prefer this dress more.
