Steemit as a blogging platform is a user-friendly platform which allows users to share valuable contents and engage with other users through comments. The interesting part of it is that users on the platform can actually earn from their contents created. Earnings on Steemit is mostly with Steem coins. This proudly introduce the user to the knowledge of cryptocurrency. I'll focus more on this earning aspect.
Steemit platform has developed a principle which has helped a lot of users. This principle is actually called the Power Up Initiative. Power up is an initiative whereby a user save up his or her earning in proportion of a certain percentage. These certain percentages can be 50%, 75% or 100%. Before I go into the benefits of power up, let's see how I powered up my Steems.
My Power Up Process |
---|
- The first thing I did is that I logged in to my Steemit Wallet. No transactions can be performed on Steemit without being logging in.
- Locating my Liquid Steems, I clicked on the arrow near it to display a pop down dialog box.
- On the pop down dialog box, click on Power up. On the next dialog box, input the number of Steems you wish to power up and click Power up.
- On the next dialog box, click OK and your Steems will powered up automatically.
- Here is the screenshot after the power up
Benefits of Power Up |

Here are some benefits of the power up initiative:
- Saving For The Rainy Season: Power up initiative is actually a saving scheme. A user who is consistent in the power up process will worry less about the rainy season. The rainy season which is usually unpredictable has little or no chance of affecting such user.
- Increased Voting Reward: The user which is devoted to the power up initiative will experience much weight in his or her Steem Wallet. Whenever the user vote on other's posts, the voting rewards will be much higher than other users who don't power up easily. This is actually a benefit of the user who power up consistently.
I invite @bossj23, @vudeme123 and @johnmitchel to the contest.
