"Pick a Word, Paint a Story #12"

Hello friends, it is another good time to make my entry for the week. For this week, I will be making the word "WATER" my preferred choice to write on. The term water is one word we commonly encounter in our daily lives. Despite the situation at hand, it has remained a common resource both the rich and poor have access to.

Understanding the term Water

As we all know this is a substance or rather a compound that contains two molecules. Two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen (H²O). One chemical compound that has a vital influence on the existence of humans and nature.

Over 70% of the Earth's surface is known to be covered by water, making for a greater percentage of the underground. We could see its presence in oceans, seas, rivers, lakes, etc. Have we wondered why humans suffer from dehydration? This is because water constitutes a greater percentage of the human body and, if not adequate, causes that therein.

The Essence & Composition of Water

We cannot underestimate the importance of water in our everyday lives. Water is composed of both physical and chemical properties that make it essential to our existence. Human life primarily depends on water for longevity, given diverse importance.

Water aids digestion, and transportation of food nutrients in the body as well as waste products. It also helps in regulating body temperature. We cannot taste without having to drink water; thus, it brings satisfaction at all times. However, this should be consumed in moderation at every given time.

Water Movement

Water describes how water passes through different cycles. This may be referred to as the water cycle. This water cycle is a process that involves the movement of water between the Earth and the atmosphere. During the water cycle process, we find a situation where water evaporates from the surfaces and, in turn, forms vapor and cloud formation.

When cloud formation is observed, we find precipitation in view in the form of rain. and snow. This is an essential part of the water cycle, where waterbodies and groundwater volumes are replenished. There is usually a balance in all of these cycles though is been distorted by seasonal changes and climatic factors. However, water plays an important role in maintaining Both humans and ecosystems.

Importance of water

The importance of water cannot be overemphasized in our daily lives. Plants also depend heavily on water for sustainability and overall growth during their life cycles. This is evident during photosynthesis as water is greatly involved in this process.

Animals are not excluded from this water-all-important role. Animals' survival also depends on the water as this aids in adequate body temperature and digestion of ingested food. Most of their other body organs depend heavily on water availability. This is likely for humans as over 60% of the human body depends on water composition. A function that ensures good health and homeostasis.

Water Challenges

Despite the supposed water abundance we find everywhere, freshwater availability has remained a challenge given the numerous challenges it faces. About 2.5% of available water on earth is said to be fresh and this could be found in the groundwater aquifers and glaciers.

Water available on earth has been continuously observed altered given the activities of man through industrialization, urbanization, agricultural activities, and plastic waste products. Moreover, all waste product disposal has become evident in waterways and drinking water, bringing water contamination to an unbearable height.

In conclusion, water is a life-changing resource that all living things depend greatly upon. It is supposedly known as the foundation of life in existence. A proper understanding of hit ow works for each of the benefactors or brings about better liviconditionsion for all. Humans and animals, body temperature regulation, is enabled; plantings need them.to carry out photosynthesis, and it is the mainstay for a better and prosperous ecosystem.
