Hello friends, Welcome to another nice time here. Will be entertaining us with my post-publication on the topic in view. It is all about our dreams and how best we identify those obstacles that clog the wheel of achievement.

Write about a dream of yours that came true/or want to achieve.

We all had dreams that came through and ones that are still in view as we continue to exist. When one is achieved, we aspire for more, and hence more goals are set in anticipation to achieve more. These all center on our dreams as we pursue them as far as life is intact.

After my secondary/high school education, I aspire (dream) to attend university education. Even when my mates who were opportune to gain admission immediately after high school left, it didn't demoralize me in any way but I soldiered on and made it the following year. My dream of entering the university was achieved and this was also crowned with a distinction graduation.

Another dream that came through, was having successfully passed through the compulsory one-year National Youth Service Corps. This happened at a time when I also gained employment after my service year. Just as I earlier mentioned, these dreams come with responsibilities that after one is achieved, another comes up.

The next dream that was set and also achieved was renting an apartment and walking down the altar with my spouse. This dream was achieved just as planned and timely for me. As soon as this was achieved the last part of the dream which is still yet to be achieved came up.

Since the pandemic, I have always had this zeal to further my studies to acquire more skills and growth in my career path. I have chosen to have my post-studies overseas and more precisely one of the North American countries. I've been making all necessary attempts since 2020 to achieve this fit and make this dream a reality, but this has since been in view.

What obstacles have you faced/faced to fulfill that dream? How you overcame those obstacles?
  • Consistency & Hardwork:

When some of my high school mates got their admission into university immediately after our secondary school days, it was obvious that I needed to do more in passing my entrance/Jamb exams. This was tasking at that moment because of the peer pressure to either succeed or be left behind. I had to put in more effort and energy to enable me to scale through this challenge.

  • Focus and Purposeful:

It didn't end at just gaining admission into the university but it also required that focused all through my days in the university and diligently achieved my purpose. I was strategic in all my activities and gave my best in all academic activities.

  • Intentional and Planning:

Being intentional and ambitious gave me some leverage in achieving this fit. The fit of planning my way out from dependence. I was able to earn independence in my little world and earned some freedom relative to renting an apartment and building my family.

  • Lack of Financial Standing:

All other mentioned points were tailored towards achieving my dream but this very point has been a limitation in handling my present dream of pursuing an international post-study education. It has lingered up to this time of writing. But hopeful it would be a story just like the other listed points.

Who encourages you to fulfill your dreams?

All through my dream story, someone has remained consistent, my mom. She had been the source of most of this dream journey before my spouse came into the picture two. I would not fail to mention my family, inlaws, and loved ones who have also played tremendous roles at one point or the other.

They are all a combination of the dream journey. Their support may not necessarily be financial but also moral and psychological. They remain the best ever.

What are the top 3 obstacles to not fulfilling one's dreams?
  • Lack of good Financial Standing:

This is one of the major limitations to achieving one's dream. Just as I mentioned earlier in my case, this particular point has been a clog to my wheel of executing my plans as required. Persecuting a postgraduate studies education requires some thousand USD.

  • Lack of Determination:

There are people who don't persist in achieving what they want. They try and get defeated. As one who is determined, I made sure I overcame the problem of quitting after some failures. Being determined was my watchword and I had to handle every dream I had without having to quit. Our level of determination and zeal determines how far we go in achieving our dreams.

  • Procrastination:

Procrastination is the mother of failure. This is a silent killer that drags our aspiration into the mud gradually. We seem to see our dreams in front of us but are unable to achieve them due to procrastination. The best to carry out that task is now. This is the concept and mindset to overcome procrastination.

Conclusion

I want to really thank the organizers of this contest as this only brings to bear our limitations and consciousness to thrive in ameliorating them.
I would like to invite @sahmie, @hisgeneral, and @shiftitamanna.

Shalom
