For this weeks Show Us Your California contest by @socalsteemit I head back for another fun day at...
Lake Silverwood!!
So a few weeks ago my cousin and I had a really fun weekend at Lake Silverwood, which you can read about here, and so last weekend we decided to go back! This time we brought our friend Mark and we just came for the day and didn't camp out like last time. Also this time we went to Chamise cove on the west side of the lake instead of Quiet cove on the east side.
We parked at the lookout above the cove and hiked down the steep trail to the PCT. We followed the PCT for a short distance until we found a good spot to cut down to the shore. We found a great spot with grass to sit on and partial shade which was nice since it was quite hot out. I inflated my pack raft, got my fishing poles ready and then spent the rest of the afternoon floating around the cove fishing. This time I brought some crankbait, which are actually lures and not bait as the name might make you think, to try to catch some bass because last time we saw a bunch of bass. I tried fishing both from my boat as well as from the shoreline, but I still was unable to catch anything and this time I didn't even see any fish. Regardless of that it was still a really nice day and I had lots of fun just floating around!

Bummer the fish didn’t cooperate but still sounds like a great day! 😎
