How would aliens view me from space?
A speck of dust?
Or a tiny grain of sand?
This world is so magnanimous.
And I live in it.
But what's my role here?
Am I just a body of systems?
What am I doing here?

The earth in all its splendour,
Has treasures that depend on its existence.
The green grass,
The sapphire ocean,
The mouths that feast–
on green and beast alike.
Man's civilization,
Creatures evolving,
New creatures being discovered.

The earth is a masterpiece.
We see the trees,
The skies,
The ocean,
The beasts.
But have we seen it all?
Perhaps, there are things unknown.
Something yet to be discovered.
Something present, yet mysterious.

The earth is special,
It's sapphire attire,
Stands out amongst its peers.
It boasts of its ability to support life,
Among a solar system,
In a system of galaxies,
In a universe,
In parallel universes.
Perhaps—
Life exists in other galaxies,
Maybe species of our kind,
Or an entirely different set of organisms.
Perhaps, we might get to meet them.

This earth is large.
And truly truly I say unto you,
I am but a grain of dust in this world.
For what am I in comparison to these things?
But does that mean I have no purpose?
Nein.

The earth may travel round the sun for 365 days,
As simple as that sentence sounds,
It's for a purpose.
A responsibility towards it's inhabitants.
To ensure they live.

If earth's ensuring your survival,
It means we also have a purpose,
Towards it and towards other people.
So, no.
I'm not just a body of systems.
I have a purpose.

You may ask what that purpose is,
But instead of living everyday waiting to find that,
Every day has a purpose.
Everyday is a gift.
That's why it's called the present.
