Go to YouTube (if possible) and post the video link directly in your post (which will post the video).
FYI, as-of 2017, traffic from Steemit only counted in YouTube's stats if the YouTube video was embedded using the "embed code" instead of by using the link. (See here)
I don't know, but I guess it's still true. Maybe this only matters if it's someone's own YouTube channel, but my assumption is that we're more likely to drive return traffic from YouTube to Steemit by using the embed code. So, as a general rule, I copy the embed code from the video instead of the link. Not sure if it matters at all, but it's really not any harder.
Duly noted, I'm used to WordPress, so I'm used to just using the link. Thank you for telling me that, though, because I'll most certainly do it the other way if it makes even the slightest difference on Steemit.
