Laws are the system of rules which are invented and enforced by a legal system to maintain and control people's behaviors and ensure justice and peace in the society. Laws can be created by governments, international organizations, or legal bodies and can surround a wide range of areas such as contract law, criminal law, civil law, and above all constitutional law. Laws are is usually and mostly enforced through punishment and sanctions for those that desecrated the law, with the mind of promoting fairness, and protect people's rights, and to maintain public harmony.

If you could change a law in your country, what would it be?

They is absolutely one law that needs to be changed, so if stand a chance to change a law in my country Nigeria I will change the anti-LGBTQ+ law, that criminalizes same sex relationship. To me I don't recognize it as law because it has been widely criticized for violating and damaging human rights and equality principles.
By processing this law Nigeria could move towards a more inclusive and accepting society for all people's, despite their gender identity or sexual orientation. Further more, changing this law may help to abolish discrimination and violence against the ( anti-LGBTQ+ law).

Why do you think this law needs to be changed?
Yes the anti-LGBTQ+ law in Nigeria should be changed in other to promote equalities and protect the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals. Discriminatory laws like this contribute to the marginalization and mistreatment of LGBTQ+ individuals, and by changing them can help build a more inclusive and a conducive environment. The reason of proposing this change is to enact and advocate for equal rights, respect, protection for the LGBTQ+ society in Nigeria.

How this change will affect the society & your country?

The changing of anti-LGBTQ+law can have many positive effects on our country and society.
✅ Improving international reputation: rescinding discriminatory law might improve Nigeria reputation on the international level and enhance it's stands in the global community. Which can also increase collaboration investment and positive relationship with others countries.

✅ Reduction of violence and discrimination: repealing this discrimination law, they will be decrease in discrimination, harassment, and violence against LGBTQ+ individuals. And it would also contribute to a big safer and supportive community for members of LGBTQ+ community in Nigeria.

Thank you all, 🙏
