Burnsteem25 Campaign - S9 || The Diary Game || 13/6/24|| Mission unaccomplished but we won’t give up.

It was what seemed like a normal day yet in every respect not normal. I woke up early this day or would I say I stayed up all through the night because the environment was new to me and I have this thing which I can’t really explain what it is or why it happens.

Whenever I find myself in a new environment, I don’t seem to be able to sleep at night. It was strange to me the first time I experienced it but it has seeem to become an integral part of my life.

Believe me it’s very frustrating as I would literally stay awake all night in a new environment and not be able to sleep. I would lie down after taking my bath and close my eyes in a bid to see if I could sleep but that’s how am going to stay there all through the night and never seem to remember having a single moment when I drifted into a good sleep.

That was my omen this night as I jealously listened to the snoring of my colleagues while I laid down sleepless praying for the slightest sleep. It’s going to be a busy day and a hectic day and I could use the slightest feeling of refreshment from sleeping knowing I have some task ahead of me.

Unfortunately the sleep didn’t come and I had to be up as early as 4am for my prayers and to prepare for the day. I and my team had traveled to another part of town and we were supposed to host a seminar training for the students in a tertiary institution in town.

We left as early as past 6am and I must say I was already fatigued from the sleepless night coupled with the fact that we arrived late the previous night. With my tired face and body we began another journey to our destination.

We arrived in about 45 minutes time and the school was still empty cos it was early and lectures wasn’t starting until 8am or 9am. We had time to scout and look around the school premises and ask questions so we could know how the seminar would commence and hold.

While we were looking around the school, some of my team members were acousted by the security personnel’s and they were taken to the school security post.

We had to excuse ourselves from the school environment to find out what is happening. Our team members said the school authorities said some persons had broken into an office and made away with the school properties.

They are being careful of everyone they see around the school premises especially if it’s early. We told them who we are and our mission in the school. They detained the team members while we had to await their release else we may not be able to carry out our project.

After careful interrogation, they were released after seeing we had good intentions and were not thieves. They gave us the stipulated procedure to follow to be able to do what we came for.

The procedure would take a while hence we were not able to do what we came for . We regrouped and had to restrategize to come back again after having ensured the procedure was followed.

This wasn’t what we expected though but it was a head way. Our mission was unaccomplished but we resolved to come back better and stronger.

	Back to base

We headed home tired having almost spent a good part of the day. We got to where we were staying and had lunch of jollof rice which I prepared for everyone. After eating, we had to start heading back to the other side of town where we came from. It was already getting dark and the journey was over two hours.

I got home late, tired and exhausted. All I needed was a good night sleep having not slept the previous night. I had my bath, ate dinner and was off to bed for a good night sleep.
