Bangladesh's Independence Day is on March 26th, marking a vital moment in 1971 when Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared independence from West Pakistan. East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) had continued years of political, economic, and cultural oppression. The Bengali population's struggle for rights led to the the liberation war.
On the night time of March 25, 1971, the Pakistani army released Operation Searchlight in Dhaka, sparking the War of Independence. In the early hours of March 26, Bangabandhu declared independence, a message later broadcast by Major Ziaur Rahman. After nine months of extreme struggle, Bangladesh secured victory and independence on December 16, 1971.

His March 7 speech is visible because the final call for freedom, uniting the state to face up to Pakistani forces.

National Flag Hoisting on authorities and personal buildings, with colleges and institutions also collaborating.
A Parade and Military Display at the National Parade Ground in Dhaka, showcasing military strength and the liberation struggle.
Cultural Events like dramas, songs, and poetry recitations focused on the liberation war, broadcast on radio and TV.
Discussion and Prayer Meetings prepared through social and cultural organizations, reflecting at the significance of independence and the liberation struggle.
Competitions in Educational Institutions such as essay writing, painting, and debates to promote patriotism among students.
Sports Activities like football , cricket, and traditional games are held nationwide, attractive the general public in celebrations.
