THE NEGLECTED WIFE
Once upon a time, there were two lovers in college days. They were so in love with each other that everyone in school called them "love birds". They won't hesitate to spend time together at every moment they had. Nothing was going to stand in their way of love. Kenneth was a charming and successful Yoruba man while Chika was an Igbo girl, both ethnic groups in Nigeria.
Their romantic relationship had swept them off their feet so immediately after college they got married. Though Chika's family did not approve of the marriage but the kind of love they shared was inseparable so the families finally gave their consent and they were married. They were happily married for ten years and had two kids, a boy and a girl.
After years of harmony Chika began to feel like a ghost in her home. Kenneth was now spending more time in the office and even when he was home he was still working so it seemed like Chika's presence in the home was not noticed again. He was so distant and too busy to even look at his wife anymore.
Chika tried to be an understanding wife to the husband but the loneliness was alarming. Imagine living with your husband but he's so far emotionally. Chika became emotionally deranged and felt she was invisible and unappreciated in her marriage.
This distant attitude of Kenneth lasted for months and Chika was loosing her mind. She began to wonder if she was not as beautiful as she used to be or whether she did something wrong that has made Kenneth to avoid her. She was worried, sad and lonely. Remembering how they were inseparable back then in college days made her feel worst.
All these while, Chika had not bother to ask the husband what really happened but thank God she finally confronted Kenneth about his behavior.
One night after serving Kenneth's dinner, she went to bed. After eating Kenneth went to bedroom too and sat by the bed, carried his laptop and started working as usual. Chika turned to him and asked him crying "what have I really done to deserve this neglect and isolation from you. Do you even noticed me? Do you know I am dying inside?"
Immediately, Kenneth turned in shock, surprised and said, "why will you think of such, how can I neglect you?" Chika for the first time in months had the chance to talk so she poured out her heart in sorrow, she explained how she has felt and shockingly Kenneth was not even aware of his own behaviour towards his wife. He felt so sorry for making the wife pass through such emotional trauma.
Kenneth wrapped his hands around his wife and appreciated her and promised never to make her feel such emotional trauma ever again. From thence Kenneth had to put in effort to notice his wife and created time for his wife and family. They were happy again and Chika was now relieved of the stress of thinking too much. She was more relaxed and happy.
MORAL LESSONS
In relationship, communication is important. If Chika had talked to the husband about his behaviour earlier, she wouldn't have been through emotional stress.
Ignoring your loved ones can lead to emotional stress so let's try to notice our spouses no matter how busy we may be.
Forgiveness is valuable in relationship, we have to forgive our spouses and let peace reign in our homes.
We must acknowledge our flaws and give room for improvement and make amends when necessary.

What an interesting stories I have learnt a lot and some moral lessons in this wonderful story. Had it been chika told her husband about his behaviour he would have stopped but sha at the end they still became loving 🐦 birds. Have a nice and wonderful day @beevicsam.
