Hello friends welcome to my blog.

	My Meal

This is a picture of local dishes in my country Nigeria.
In the picture we have Roasted plantain with its sauce prepared with palm oil, ice fish and ugba (fermented oil bean seed), on the other plate we have Nkwobi(spiced cow foot) prepared with pepper, fresh utazi leaves, Uhuru seed, ugba and palm oil. And we have Abacha(African salad), abacha is made from processed cassava by peeling the cassava tuber, washing, cooking and slicing it into your choice of sizes or shapes. So in the picture above, the abacha has been prepared with crayfish, season cubes, salt, ugba, palm oil, utazi leaves, onions and fried fish.

These foods are nutritious, and rich in vitamins and minerals that are essential for good health. They are locally sourced without many artificial spices to make them tasty. They have their unique tastes and as we all know, our local dishes give us memories of root or locality

All my life I have known these local dishes to be roadside-selling food or hawkers carry them around to sell. Not until I travelled to Enugu state in my country. And visited a good and well-decorated restaurant with my friends, only to find out that what they sold was our local dishes all through. At first, I wondered who would have invested huge amount in a business like this just for our local dishes you can get anywhere in the street.

But after my visit there, I was so impressed with their services, I enjoyed the atmosphere including the decor, lighting and music. The meals were delicious, satisfying and tasted original. Although their cost Was a bit high, understandably, we were also paying for operational costs, quality, and presentation.

Also, I noticed they had patronage which will be as a result of the environment, services and food quality because these are some of the few factors that should prompt to repeated customer patronage

However, this is an improved way of promoting our local dishes and preparing them in a clean environment which I think attracts more people to come in and enjoy it because there are people who feel irritated buying food on the road. Also, some who are of high status in society who crave these local dishes but can't stand buying them on the roadside. Restaurants like this have created a congenial for them to come in and enjoy their local dishes.

I highly recommend such an initiative to build more places like this to improve our local dishes
