A long time ago, There was a king who ruled over a kingdom, his kingdom was spread over a large area, he had a very special minister on whom the king trusted a lot, and he had to consult him about his kingdom.

One day, the king asked the minister what his greatest desire in life was. The minister, feeling pressured, replied that he sometimes wished he owned a tenth of the king's kingdom. The king was shocked and decided to test the minister's loyalty.

The king issued two decrees: one granting the minister half of the kingdom if he could answer three questions, and another decree sentencing the minister to death if he failed.

The Questions were

  • What is the greatest truth in life?
  • What is the biggest deception in human life?
  • what is the biggest weakness in human life?

The minister was given 30 days to find the answers. He sought the wisdom of scholars, wise men, and even common people, but none of their answers satisfied him. As time passed, he became desperate and left his home to search for a godly man who could help him.

After traveling for days, the minister met a poor man who was eating dry bread and drinking water. The poor man revealed that he was once a minister like him and had made the same mistake. He offered to answer the questions for free, except for the third answer, which would require the minister to drink leftover dog's milk.

The minister agreed and received the answers: the greatest truth in life is death, the biggest deception is life itself, and the biggest weakness is one's own purpose. The minister realized that he had sacrificed his self-respect to achieve his goal and felt ashamed.

Lesson:
The story teaches us to be mindful of our desires and purposes, and not let them consume us. We must also remember our mortality and the impermanence of life, and strive to live with integrity and self-respect. By doing so, we can avoid falling into the trap of selfishness and deception, and instead, live a life of wisdom and fulfillment.
