I have been visiting Floriade tulip exhibitions held in Canberra every year and every time I see something in a new style. The tulip is a romantic flower, and when you see this romantic flower in so many colors you are speechless and left spellbound.

If you visit this flower show you will feel as if you have arrived in the world of love and the variety and colors will leave you speechless.

The tulip, which is famous in every household today, is not a native flower of Holland or America, but as I understand it, it's a flower that grew in the mountainous regions of Asia. People in these regions have been witnessing this lovely flower in many countries, including China, Afghanistan, Russia, and even Tibet.

Now the craze for tulips has spread to every country, and this flower has become the symbol f love. But do you know who was the biggest lover of this flower? It was Sultan Mehmed of Turkey who was mesmerized by tulips, and he grew this flower in twelve big gardens and employed more than 900 gardeners to take care of them.

The tulip, named after the Turkish word for turban, was one of the most prized flowers of that era and still is, and it became a symbol of respect and love. Sultans wore tulips on their turbans as a sign of their elegance and wealth.

Most of us know that tulip is associated with the Netherlands, and very few know its Turkish connection, but the Dutch actually adopted it as a trade commodity. If I read it correctly, it was probably a symbol of love between Sherin and Farhad.

Now I will tell Shirin and Farhad's Persian legendary story about how red tulips grew. It explains the real love story of Farhad and Princess Shirin. Farhad was not rich or from a princely family, but an ordinary man. All he had to offer was love to his soulmate, Shirine, which was not acceptable to his father, who was the sultan of the state.

Shirin's rich father did not want his daughter to marry a common man. So he challenged Farhad to cut a canal through the rocks of a mountain and bring it to his palace. Farhad did not hesitate but immediately started the work, but the sultan was clever.

As soon as he found out that Farhad was about to build the canal, he announced his daughter's death due to illness. Farhad was so saddened to hear this news that he jumped down from the top of the mountain, and wherever his blood fell on the rocks, the red tulip flowers grew at every point.

Now I don't know if there is any truth in this story, but this story is very famous and is a symbol of the true love of Shirin and Farhad.
