Water: My View, Myself Wk36.

Introduction

"Water e no get enemy," is one of the songs I heard was sang by the legendary Fela Kuti. Water itself, they say, is life, and from the lyrics of Fela's song, it has no enemy. If you observe critically, there's virtually nothing that can survive without water.

Yes, we use water to cook, bathe, wash, and for drinking, the list is endless. Many of the things we see or make use of have, in one process or the other, made use of water. For example, the plants which produce the fruits and veggies we consume every day have, in one way or the other made use of water. If the plant doesn't receive enough water, the production of fruit will automatically be poor.

We as humans, apart from the other usage of water, have you noticed the unusual satisfaction water gives whenever you drink it? I've noticed that whenever someone is hungry, water can always be used to calm the body until food is ready.

After recounting the need for water, water on the other hand can be dangerous too. We have heard of floods destroying lives and properties and then crops. Not also forgetting the usual saying that "water is sweet inside a cup." We have also heard of the danger of the sea, or have you forgotten that the sea has water where it kills when there's an accident? Or have you also forgotten about the swimming pools?

However, it is important to note that seeing water on the good side is good, but water, when analysed, has its negative sides too.

What do you understand by the word Water?

Water, according to my basic Social Studies teacher, is a clear liquid that is colourless and odourless. For me, water is life.

What are the benefits of drinking water?

Because of the importance of water to humans, you should've heard doctors' advice that you drink a lot of water. For humans, water does the following for the body:

  • Water delivers oxygen and energy throughout the body

  • It boosts skin health

  • Water regulates body temperature

  • It helps to calm the brain

  • It renews and rejuvenates the body

What if water had a color? Tell us your reaction on this.

If water had colour, I probably wouldn't have had any problem with it. Just like we have seen everything created by God having different colours without us questioning them. I wouldn't have questioned or have any problem with whatever colour it would've been.

I sure know that the one who made it knew the perfect colour for it.

Tell us a brief real life story concerning water.

When I was a little girl, my aunt was sick at school. On her way home she fainted due to the sickness. There was no hospital close by, the people around poured water on her, and she sneezed and then, she managed to open her eyes. She recovered a little bit after a few minutes. She hadn't eaten any solid food since morning. She asked for water because that was kept her till she got home.

Water is truly life. Remember the rich man I'm the Bible asked Lazarus for water.
