Hello everyone, a warm greeting, I wish you much success in your projects, this week I was quite busy in the office, however, take the opportunity to take a short walk through Plaza Francia, located in Alatamira, Caracas, Venezuela.

Here they recently placed a sign where people can take pictures, next to the sign that says I love chacaho.

This is the Obelisk, it's 45 meters high, I really like it when the sky looks like this.

Plaza Francia:

Fue construida a principio de la década de 1940 e inaugurada el 11 de agosto de 1945 con el nombre de "Plaza Altamira". Posteriormente su nombre cambió a Plaza Francia luego de un convenio entre las ciudades de Caracas y París para tener una Plaza Francia en Caracas y una Plaza Venezuela en París.

Destaca en la Plaza, el Obelisco de Altamira, símbolo del Municipio Chacao, el Espejo de Agua y una fuente que cae hacia el fondo de la plaza que se ha convertido en un pequeño centro comercial y la principal salida del Metro de Caracas en la Estación Altamira.

Antes de 1940, la zona de Altamira era una hacienda agrícola llamada El Paraíso, de 110 hectáreas, con las grandes quebradas cristalinas Pajaritos, Quebrada Seca y Quintero o quebrada de Chacao, afluentes del río Guaire, que descendían de norte a sur desde la montaña que limita al norte la ciudad de Caracas llamada el Cerro el Ávila.

On August 11, 1945, the inauguration of the Plaza del Obelisco was celebrated, currently Plaza Francia. Research on the internet and I found this old photograph, we see that the surroundings were forests and farms.

Just behind me, walking down these stairs, we have the "Altamira" metro station, which is part of the main line of the Caracas Metro.

This space is full of history, and especially recent history. Sadly, a group of citizens who were involved in a difficult political situation were concentrated here, where people died... Respecting all that, I can say that it is a place full of history.
