BABIES(The Joy of Little Nelly)
It was morning already, and the beautiful radiant rays of sunlight entered through the windows. Mary was awake in bed, listening and enjoying the breathing of her husband, Henry, who was sleeping soo peacefully beside her. She Was brooding on how They had been parents for only five months, and their lives had changed in ways they never expected or imagined.
Suddenly, she heard familiar sound broke through her thoughts—the soft cry of baby Nelly from the next room. Mary smiled and gently nudged Henry
"She's awake," Mary whispered.
Henry stretched and yawned. "Let me get her this time," he offered, though his eyes still looked sleepy. But Mary was already up, pulling on her robe. She didn’t mind being the first to see Nelly in the morning. In fact, it was her favorite part of the day.
Mary tiptoed into the nursery quietly. As she opened the door, Nelly’s tiny arms were already waving in the air, her face lighting up with a toothless grin the moment she saw her mother. The joy that filled the room was immediate and so pure. Nellys smile was so innocent, so full of life, ahhh!! it made Mary's heart swell every single time she saw her.
"Good morning, my Princess," Sarah cooed, lifting Nelly from her crib. Nelly let out a giggle, grabbing her mother’s finger with her small adorable hand. It was a simple gesture, but it meant the world to Mary. In that very moment, all of Mary’s exhaustion and worries drifted away. Nelly’s laughter had a way of making everything else feel less important.
Later that morning, Henry joined them in the kitchen. He carried Nelly, holding her high in the air as she laughed so much joy. Henry grinned. “She’s always so happy in the morning. I don’t what makes her do it or know how she does it.”
Nelly babbled in response, her little hands reaching out to touch Henry’s face. He kissed her forehead, his heart full. Every moment with Nelly felt like heaven, and even though parenting was challenging, it was beautiful moments like this that made everything worth step ahead.
Later in the day, they decided stroll a bit. Nelly was in her stroller, her eyes wide with curiosity and maybe questions as she gazed upon everything around her. She reached out to to touch a passing dog, her fingers opening and closing in excitement. The dog’s owner, a stranger, couldn’t help but stop to admire her with a smile.
“What a beautiful baby!” the woman said, bending down to greet Ella. The baby gurgled and clapped her hands in response, making the woman laugh. "She’s such a happy little thing. Babies really do make the world brighter, don’t they?"
Mary and Henry exchanged a glance, smiling.
As the sun began to set, Mary and Henry returned home. After dinner, it was time to give Nelly her bath. The little one splashed in the warm water, laughing as she tried to catch the bubbles Mary blew in her direction. It was such a simple routine, yet it filled the room with laughter and love, what a blessing, she thought to her self smiling.
Later, as they rocked Nelly to sleep, Dan whispered, “You know, I never understood how much joy a baby could bring until now.”
Mary nodded, watching Nelly’s eyelids flutter closed. “Me neither,” she agreed. “It’s like she reminds us every day of what really matters.”
The house grew quiet again as Nelly drifted off to sleep. Mary and Henry stood by her crib for a moment, just watching their daughter, amazed by the impact she had on their lives. She had brought them closer, made them more patient, more kind. Every smile, every laugh, every tiny moment of joy reminded them how precious life was.
As they left her crib, hand in hand, Mary knew that their lives would never be the same—and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Little Nelly had brought them very close and a kind of joy that was more profound and lasting than they could have ever imagined. It was the joy of new beginnings, of unconditional love, and of seeing the world through fresh, innocent eyes, she prayed that this way they felt should last forever.
In the end, it wasn’t just that Nelly brought joy. She was joy—a small, radiant light that brightened everything she touched.
