What do you understand by the word Karate?

The world Karate is a Japanese martial art that focuses on self-defense, discipline, and striking techniques. I do watch Karate fighting in a movie which is mostly Japanese and Chinese movie. Karate involves the use of punches, knee strikes, kicks, elbow strikes, and open-hand techniques to block and attack the opponent. Karate focuses more on mental discipline respect and physical conditioning of defending oneself. Okinawa is where Karate is been originated from.

List and explain 3 techniques in Karate.

Punch (Zulu or Tsuki):

This is a technique that has to do with having a basic striking technique where the practitioner delivers a punch using a closer fist. Choku-zuki is the best version of this technique where the punch is thrown directly at an opponent.

Front Kick (Mae Geri):

This is the technique that has to do with basic kicking where the practitioner raises his knee and extends his leg forward, striking with the ball of the foot. Balancing and timing are the keys to making this technique more effective

Downward Black (Gedan Bara):

This is a defensive technique where the practitioner sweeps their arm downward to block a low attack such as a kick. In this technique the blocking arm moves across the body in a sweeping motion, using the firearm to deflect the attack away.

I recommend this karate movie title: The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (1978) to Steemians. I love the movie because it is worth watching for the lessons the movie passed to me. It is a masterful movie with philosophical soulfulness and a sense of visual poetry that sets it apart from so many Karate movies which is the reason why I love the movie.
