In this contest I will be sharing with you all every steps I took in processing cassava into garri, so read with me and gain a little knowledge in the aspect of garri processing.
My best diary of the week all started on 19th October which was on Saturday when I and my siblings set out to the farm to harvest cassava in other to process garri, On getting to the farm as a Christian we did a short prayer for the main purpose of strength and energy to carry on with the work we came for after the prayer we position our selves then started harvesting the cassava which was a little bit easier for us because the ground was not hard rather it was soft and easy because we are in rainy season.
Without wasting much time after some hours we were done with the harvesting process which took some hours so we have to give our body a little rest before we started gathering the cassava in one spot so that we can start pealing it.
So after pealing it we have to put them inside sack then take it home like that to wash since there was no water close to the farm which we could have used to wash it there in the farm at ones.
On getting home I rested for a while because pushing the cassava home with wheelbarrow was not that easy rather it was very stressful for me to point that I was feeling some sharp pains in my spinal cord but after resting the pain subsides then before I move down to the nearest stream to get water which we used to wash the cassava before taking it to the engine that will ground the cassava into paste.
On getting there we waited for our turn to teach because they was other people there who came before us to ground their own as well, so while waiting was operating my phone and checking somethings in internet which keeps me company that moment because I was so unrelaxed and weak because of the rest I have been through the whole day.
After sometimes our turn reach which the person in charge of the grounding called us to start putting our own cassava in the engine so that he start grounding it immediately before night falls,
After the grounding processing we have to pack the cassava paste and put it in a sack bag so that it will ferment for a while putting it in a jack that will press out the water, which normal takes one or two days depending on how you want own that's to say your choice matters here.
So since it was Saturday evening and I know it won't be possible to fry it on Sunday because we will be going to church the next day been it 20th October on Sunday so allowed the cassava pastel to ferment for one full day before putting it in jack on that Sunday evening hoping to fry it on Monday morning.
So when we came there on Monday morning we have to untie the garri from the jack by then it has already dried out water and it was ready to sieve out the chalves out before frying it.
After the sieving aspect we started frying it which one of my friends supported me in doing that, it wasn't that long we finished frying because the fire we used to fry it was in good form which makes everything easier and faster for us and I think that is the last process of garri processing which was the frying aspect.
I have finally come to the end point of this week Best Diary Game Of The Week hope you really enjoyed reading through my blog, I really appreciate your presence here,
