"May this holy month bring you prosperity, blessings and peace. May Allah's grace and mercy be with you throughout Ramadan and beyond."Ramadan Mubarik
I love to read books and novels. So, I want to share a very spiritual novel with all of you "The forty rules of love."
"The 40 Rules of Love" by Elif Shafak is a novel that weaves together two parallel narratives:
1• About a contemporary woman named Ella Rubenstein.
2• About the 13th-century Sufi mystic and poet Rumi and his relationship with his spiritual mentor, Shams Tabriz.
About Ella:-
Ella is a middle-aged woman living in Massachusetts who is unhappy with her life. She takes a job as a reader for a literary agency, where she is given a manuscript about Rumi and Shams. As she reads the manuscript, she becomes fascinated by the story of their relationship and the teachings of Sufism, a mystical branch of Islam.
About Shams and Rumi:
The narrative about Rumi and Shams takes place in 13th-century Turkey. Rumi is a respected Islamic scholar and teacher, but he feels unfulfilled and desire or something more. When he meets the Shams Tabriz, Rumi's life is changed completely. Shams becomes Rumi's spiritual teacher , and they both form a strong bond. Together, they explore Sufism and embark on a spiritual journey .
Comparable life journey:
As , Ella went deeper into the manuscript, she comes to know that her own life and the story of Rumi and Shams have many things same. She starts to question her own relationships and the meaning of love. She also becomes involved with Aziz Zahara, a man who is deeply influenced by the teachings of Sufism.
Through both narratives, "The 40 Rules of Love" explores themes of love, spirituality, and the human condition. The novel ultimately suggests that true fulfillment and happiness can only be found through a connection to something greater than oneself, whether it be through love , spirituality or any other purpose.
Lesson to be learned:
These are the lessons which I leaned from this novel:
1• Love has the power to transform us.
2• Love is not limited by social, cultural or religious boundaries.
3• The importance of self-discovery and self-love.
4• The transformative power of forgiveness.
5• The importance of compassion and empathy.
6• The need to challenge societal norms and conventions.
7• The power of storytelling.
8• The importance of living in the present moment.
9• Love requires courage and vulnerability.
10• The value of spiritual growth and inner peace.
I recommend you to read it by your ownself and i hope you all enjoy it.
Thanks for your consideration .
