What do you understand by the word Wallpaper? |

The word wallpaper has a lot of contexts depending on how you choose to see it.
For me, wallpaper means a decorative design that is applied to a background to enhance its beauty or decoration. It could be a phone or digital background, wall background, magazine background or generally an aesthetic background. Wallpaper brings life to a place, it adds beauty to a substance and literally just gives serenity to a particular thing.

When I moved into my new room in the hostel, I wanted the place to bring some sort of comfort to me, I wanted to be able to lie down on my bed and be happy and dream sweet dreams so I went and got a sticker wallpaper to put on my wall...the aftereffect was so beautiful when I was done, and everytime I lie down on my bed, I feel really glad as I look up my wall and see a beauty staring right back at me.

My phone wallpaper depicts a shiny lip with red lipgloss dripping from it and I personally love that particular picture because it reminds me of my love for lipglosses. The colour, the fullness of the lips, the way the texture is enhanced, the beauty the contour gives it. When I saw the wallpaper picture, I immediately resonated it with me. I'm a sucker for lipglosses of all types especially red.
Red colour emits confidence, charm, power, influence and wearing a red lipgloss as a lady, you can never go wrong with it. That picture reminded me of how I love to look everyday with a red lipgloss dripping off my lips and I loved it.

Except I'm using an image of myself, I don't really like using human images as my wallpaper. For one main reason, I find human faces as wallpapers distracting a little bit, besides, it doesn't give me the sense of tranquility, aesthetics and serenity minimalist designs or natural scenes or abstract design or travel designs or luxury designs give me.
And sometimes for example, if I get to use a picture of a model or a billionaire or celebrity, while it is inspirational as it reminds you to continue to work hard to be like them, it'll serve as a constant reminder of who I'm not and how they'll always either be better, richer, more beautiful than I am so I'll rather just stick to what gives me calm while watching it.
Tell us your favorite wallpaper category between Nature, animal, food, solar system, thing, sport, finance and emotions.
My wallpaper category would have to be nature, food, minimalist, and travel designs because;
Nature: brings tranquility and peace and a certain level of calmness. It's like an escape from the outside world full of buzz and noise and also it is a representation of growth and harmony.
Food: brings about variety and appreciation for colours and patterns asides it's ability to evoke a desire for trying out new dishes and recipes. The mouth watering pictures can cause cravings and bring back beautiful memories
Travel: inspire dream destinations and travel plans. It also provides an escape into another world with beautiful places and can make you create a bucket list for various locations.
Minimalist designs: because of its simplicity and ability to bring about focus. Sometimes looking at these simple designs can help in reducing anxiety and screen orientation and it often goes with other device themes and makes the phone look organized.
All in all, people choose wallpapers for several reasons whether to represent their personality or to improve their mood or to showcase their style or help them relax, whichever one it is, everything goes well with a good wallpaper and everyone should have the experience of using one.
