Listen, Ali, what's the matter? Why are you so quiet?
I will bring food for you. Why are you not speaking?
Listen, Ali, tell your friend that my sister is not well, please help me.
Listen Ali say to your master that there is nothing to eat in our house, tell him to pour ration in our house.
Listen Ali, your sister is not breathing well, she needs to be taken to the hospital, tell your owner to get her treated.

Ali, a 12-year-old boy, was burdened with responsibilities since childhood. Who became the father of his younger siblings at such a young age. The illness of his father and the helplessness of his mother made Ali cross the threshold of the house at an early age.

Ali did everything he could to meet the needs of his family, such as begging, picking up garbage, if he saw a rich man's car, he would appeal to them for help, Ali would have received help from some of the rich, but some of the rich were so proud of their money that he would receive nothing but slaps and abuse. Seeing himself worthless in the eyes of the world, Ali used to kill himself alive in his own eyes.

But for his siblings, he had to go out every day to be humiliated by the world. Ali who was the darling and smartest child of his house always topped his class. The car of life was moving on a proper track but suddenly when he came to know about his father's illness, a storm came in their lives which shook the foundations of their home.Ali's father did not have enough money to get himself treated.

Ali's parents went against their family and arranged an arrange marriage. The families of both were against this marriage but Zara and Arham went against their families and got married thinking that they would celebrate them later but due to family feuds and enmity of both the houses they had to get married secretly.

For the sake of their prosperous life, both of them left their home and their city and started living in an unknown village.
Ali's father started working as a machine operator in a factory so his life started in a pleasant way. Ali was born first, then Saad and Ifta came into this world.

Ali's father's income was not very high but it was enough that he was fulfilling the needs of his family well. But suddenly Arham's health started deteriorating and when he found out about cancer, he found his life very miserable. When he appealed to the factory owners for treatment, they refused and also fired him from the job.

Ali had a very sensitive nature since his childhood. When the food and drink items ran out in the house, Ali had to leave the house for the needs of his family. And had to beg, from which he started getting food to fill his stomach temporarily. Seeing his father's condition deteriorating day by day, he also forbade himself to sleep at night. He began to secretly pick garbage from which he would bring some money home by selling plastic items and bottles etc.

Arham's condition worsened due to lack of timely treatment and soon he passed away leaving him at the mercy of this world.
The local people took pity on them and gave them food for a few days, but after a few days they also closed their doors on them.

Shopkeepers also stopped giving loans. After a lot of begging, Ali got a job at a tea dhaba and thus his income increased somewhat, but only enough to meet the need for food. Serving tea to people at the tea dhaba and washing the dishes became a daily routine. As the other two children were small, Zara had to send Ali to work.

It was very painful for Zara to send her beloved son to work away from her eyes. One day, Zara sent Ali to Arham's factory, thinking that he might take pity on the child and put him to work. And after a lot of begging, Ali was given the job of packing and loading the goods. Ali was very happy that day that now he will take good care of his family.

Sometimes the mother would say that the ration is over, sometimes her sister's illness, sometimes the electricity and gas bills, Ali had a hard time despite his hard work day and night. One day, Ali's sister became ill and he could not go to the factory, but when he went, the owner slapped and punched him. No one knew what anger Maalik had, whose anger he was unleashing on Ali.

This was just the beginning. Slowly it became the norm of the owner. Ali used to bear the beating of his master for the sake of his siblings. Zara was crying and praying to God to remove her daughter's pain. Little did she know that time was going to prove so cruel to her. she pushed many government hospitals for the treatment of her daughter, but she did not get any relief. The doctors had prescribed some tests to find out the cause of the disease to know the nature of the disease. But due to lack of money, Zara used to cry tears of blood because of her helplessness.

One day, the doll's condition worsened and she began to gasp for breath. Zara sent Ali to Maalik for help. Ali knew that his owner would never help him, but for the sake of his dear sister, he once again went to Maalik to see may be he would help him.

But what Maalik did to Ali in the name of help killed Ali alive in his own eyes. Maalik and his two friends abused an innocent child under the influence of alcohol. Intoxicated with wine, these three wild beasts ignored the moans and sobs of an innocent child and quenched their lust and took his breath with them to cover up their sin as they went.

Even in such pain, these few words of Zara were echoing in Ali's ears,
Listen, Ali, what's the matter? Why are you so quiet?
I will bring food for you. Why are you not speaking?
Listen, Ali, tell your friend that my sister is not well, please help me.
Listen Ali say to your master that there is nothing to eat in our house, tell him to pour ration in our house.
Listen Ali, your sister is not breathing well, she needs to be taken to the hospital, tell your owner to get her treated.

It is a story for us to tell, but such incidents pass by us day by day and they do not even get justice. Rather, they either threaten them in the name of justice or kill them with their lives to keep their mouths shut.
My most important question is that what is our role in such a situation and what should be done? Why is our role reduced to that of mere spectators or only to the extent of sympathy?

Why don't we come together on one page to punish such criminals.
I wish we could do that.
I wish no mother had to see the suffering of her children, I wish, I wish, I wish i could do that.

As for me entering the competition... So many contests, so little time... I'll try to make the time for it, but I don't make a promise.
Thanks for the excellent read.

I am glad to know that you liked my story. And I love to write stories. I want to highlight the fights, killings and characters like Ali in our society. I try my best to express the pain and suffering of people who are anonymous and do not come to the public eye through my stories.
