My mother planted a beautiful garden in our home back in 2005. She planted guava, lemon, orange and pomegranate trees all of which are growing over time. With the delicious smells and vivid colors of these fruit trees the garden took on a unique meaning for us. She planted roses along the outermost portion of the garden to add even more beauty. Brightly colored roses added charm and beauty as they flowered. We were able to enjoy family time and the beauty of nature right here at home as our garden turned into a peaceful haven.

My mother passed away in 2008 and our family went through an extremely difficult period. We felt empty inside and were heartbroken. We found it difficult to take care of the garden she cherished because of the stress and grief. Our garden began to lose its attractiveness when no one cared for it. The once vibrant area lost its brightness as the flowers withered. Though it served as an upsetting example of our loss we were never totally removed from the memories of mama excitement for the garden.

We are currently making every effort to return our backyard garden to its original beauty. We attempted to revitalize the area that mama loved by planting fresh flowers and plants. With the blessings of Allah our flowers have never looked better.

We removed the old, dried plants and added new colorful ones in their place. The garden is now vibrant and full of life and it looks stunning. Once again it is a happy spot where we can feel mama's presence in every blossom.
