SUMMER

There are different seasons worldwide in a year comprising winter, spring, summer, autumn, etc with each season, coming with certain changes in our lives and also on our Earth. Over here in Nigeria, I think we have just three seasons which are Summer/Dry, Rainy, and Harmattan seasons, and among all these seasons, summer is awaited vastly and is the favorite season for everyone.

Summer is sunny and dry and is a time for everyone who wants to enjoy and relax. There are so many things one can do to enjoy the sunny weather such as soaking up the sun and going for a swim. Many people alike love going on vacation during summer, even sportsmen do so to relax and do other activities like visiting picnic places, spas, resorts, beaches, and many other places or things that they like as this is the perfect weather for traveling.

What summer offers us

With summer, it is always vacation time for everyone both kids on holidays and parents. It is the best time to swim on natural water bodies such as lakes, streams, beaches, etc, and take up many outdoor activities also.

With summer comes many types of fruits and flowers as varied vegetation thrives around us. For Mango lovers like myself, this is usually the period Mango is readily available as it is the most dominant fruit during this period. Although, other fruits such as jackfruits, guava, litchis, watermelons, and pineapples are also plentiful.

Having a Swim with friends

Summer gives us the chance to see many lovely animals and creatures around our surroundings since they wake up from their hibernation to take up the heat. During this period, people get to prefer cold drinks, ice creams, and watery fruit juices like grapes, cucumber, and watermelon.

Summer also serves farmers the best season to sow seeds for crops like pumpkin, cucumber, bitter gourd, etc. because this season is profitable for the cultivation of the crops.

This is also the period when different carnivals are being hosted all over the world.

Disadvantages of Summer

With summer, the days become hot and long and people mourn heat straight from the morning hours till nightfall. The heat makes people wear light dresses, sunglasses, and sandals, hence, it tends to make people prefer staying indoors.

In extremely hot weather conditions, the scorching heat of the sun affects animals' and plants' life as the water level in the soil also goes down. A water crisis is felt almost everywhere thus the use of watery fruits. the scorching sun moves everything towards a standstill during the day because of the heat of the sun.

CONCLUSION

Like every other season in the year, summer has its originality which one can count as both benefits and drawbacks. Summer for me is the fun season as we can't come out often during the rainy season or Harmattan season. I like to invite the following users @yakspeace, @starrchris and @petface
