Assalam O Alaikum !
Hope you are all well.Today I got a contest to write about cotton, because cotton is not grown in our area, so I wrote as much as I knew about it and downloaded the photos from Google, the benefits of cotton are what I am writing.
The fiber is made into cotton or thread and used to make cloth. And the oil extracted from its seeds is also used to make banaspati ghee and other products. The English translation of cotton is derived from the Arabic word قطن, which has been in use since the 1400s
Cotton is one of the most important fiber and cash crops of Pakistan which earns a lot of foreign exchange for the country. Cotton exports account for 55 percent of the country's total foreign exchange earnings. About 26 percent of farmers grow cotton, and 15 percent of the total cultivated area is devoted to this crop, which is produced mainly in two provinces. About 65% of Pakistan's cotton is grown in Punjab. The largest area under the crop is in Punjab and Sindh and is negligible in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Production of cotton per acre in Punjab is more than that of Sindh province. Overall, cotton is an important crop in tropical regions of Africa, Australia, China, Egypt, India, Mexico, Pakistan, Sudan, America, Central and South America.weet After all, cotton is a major crop of Pakistan and it is cultivated in the largest area in Pakistan compared to other crops. The cotton crop is the country's largest export earner. Apart from cottonseed oil, edible cottonseed oil accounts for 80% of the national production. Cotton and cotton-related products contribute 10 percent to the GDP and 55 percent to the country's foreign exchange earnings.
In the last 30 years, with the increase in the area under cotton cultivation, the prices of cotton and bacic cotton have also increased significantly.Generally, cotton is cultivated to obtain fiber and this fiber is used in the textile industry because cotton fiber fabrics do not cause any allergies or irritate sensitive skin. Apart from fiber, cotton has many other uses. Cottonseed oil is used in many industrial products, including soap, margarine, cosmetics, rubber, plastics and pharmaceuticals, for the production of Banaspati ghee. Cotton contributes about 70% of the domestically produced edible oil in Pakistan. The raw material left after oil extraction from cottonseed is a major source of cattle feed for increasing milk production in Pakistan. Even cotton stalks are used as fuel in rural areas.
