Chandraat, It is also known as the night of the new moon. It is a special night in the Islamic calendar that is celebrated by Muslims all over the world. It is a night of joy and festivity, as it marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims fast from dawn until dusk.

What is chandraat

Chandraat is a night before Edi.On this night, Muslims get together with their families and loved ones to celebrate the end of a month of sacrifice and devotion. It is a time to reflect on the blessings of Allah and to seek forgiveness for any wrongdoings.

As the sun sets on the last day of Ramadan, Muslims desperately await the sighting of the new moon. Once the moon is sighted, the festivities begin. Homes are decorated with lights and colorful decorations, and special dishes are prepared for this occasion.

Edi and gifts

One of the most prominent traditions on Chandraat is the exchange of gifts. Children receive toys and sweets, and adults give each other gifts as a sign of love and appreciation. This tradition helps to strengthen the bonds amoung the families and friends and spreads joy and happiness throughout community. girls put Mehandi on their hands. It is a traditional tattoos on the hands of the girls. They mostly call girls best friends in the neighborhood and then they put Mehandi to each other and gossiping whole night.

Charity or sadqa

Another important tradition on Chandraat is the giving of charity or sadka. Prayers on chandraat

They pray to the Almighty to see this month again in their lives as it a source of seeking blessings of Allah and gaining more and more rewards.

Firework and drafting

These are all the aspect of chandraat but Let me mention that the young people celebrate this night in their own way.As the night progresses, the celebrations continue with fireworks and music. People dance and sing, and the air is filled with the sounds of joy and laughter and gossiping everywhere.The youth come to the road side along their cars and bike and make the atmosphere warm with drafting, one wheeling and racing. It is a time to forget the stresses of daily life and to embrace the happiness and love that surrounds us.
