A lovely day from here creative steemians, a delightful time to talk about our parents and how they help mold us into what we are.

Firstly, I would like to appreciate Steem For Pakistan Community for giving us an opportunity to talk about our pillars of strength through this amazing contest; SEC-S14 /W2 |"Parents, Our Pillars of Strength!.

Considering that your family is the first group of people you begin to relate with as a child, the behaviours of your family members portray, specifically your parents is important when considering the personality you tend to adopt.

I was lucky enough to be born into one of the best homes in the world. My parents are warm and supportive, a rare privileged in this current world.

Growing up, my father displayed kindheartedness and discipline in all he did yet very calculative and cautious when taking risk. He provided for the family so well that it was hard to tell if things had ever gone bad at all. He was always there, always replying no matter how long the list was or how many times I sent the message requesting money for this or that.

On the other hand, my mom a very warm, beautiful and jovial woman has always been with me through all the faces of life, she knew the right words to say at all times, she knew when to be tolerant and when to be strict. She always knew how best to react to a new challenge. She is a strong woman but always on her knees 12:00am every night.

Growing under this kind of family, turning out wayward was out of the options. If not for my own sake then for the parental guilt that weighed heavy on my shoulders.

I am proud to say, I grew up to be kind, smart, discipline, prayerful and very emotional available and all this are influenced by the amazing parents I was lucky enough to have.

They both play the most important role in this case. I do not entirely adopt to the believe that a father is the sole provider for a family because the home I come from it was more of partnership. All working together for the utmost wellbeing of every member of the family.

My dad may have paid my school fees but my mom bought the lunch, the snacks, the white socks etc. Like she normally joked about. My dad's money had receipt to account for it but hers was otherwise.

With this, both my parents played the maximum role in my wellbeing

When I announced my aspiration of pursuing chemical engineering, my mom was totally supportive. It was as though she didn't care what career path I chose to pursue it was fine with her as long as I was happy doing it. This completely warmed my heart and yet again made me contemplate my decision.

My dad on the other hand was rather cautious in conceding. He wanted me to go for medicine and surgery because the industries in Nigeria weren't exactly working ones. After constant to and fro conversations, I am delighted to say that I am currently studying chemical engineering in the university of Uyo.

So my parents are indeed very supportive towards my dreams and aspirations.

In many instances my parents have sacrificed alot for me. The once I know and am aware of and the ones they didn't share with me but there is this one I will love to share here.

My graduation day was fast approaching. All my mates were getting ready with plans that sounded outrageous to me. All my thoughts was to graduate and I didn't expect it to have to be something grand.

We chose the colour of the day but the money sent by my dad for it was barely enough. I didn't want to concern myself too much with it but it did hurt a bit. I might not look presentable on my own graduation. The only graduation I had ever attended in my secondary school.

Few days before the D-day, things began happening even I was thrilled. How or where my mum got the extra cash from is still unknown to me but she did all of it to make my day special and till this day I would forever be grateful
