When I recall the time in my childhood when I together with my family went to the lake and we were only allowed to stay in water that was not deep and was reaching till our knees. What we did we were laying on our tummy in water and moving arms and legs pretending that we are swimming.
Still we were very proud and thought that it is almost swimming. Our parents thought of teaching us swimming but not here on open lake.
Just about few hours later, we witnessed some hectic movement more further deeper in water, when people were diving in and out. Everyone was looking very anxious and nervous.
I remember how my father also went to that people and then swam to them, also diving and coming out. I remember people started chat about the group of boys who were there spending time playing in water but one of them after diving did not come out.
Very soon we have seen ambulance and divers too. After approximately 30 minutes, the body of a boy was found but he did not breath. Once on shore the rescuers started CPR but despite of 20 minutes he did not come back and they were not able to save him.
That event made me to be more careful when at water and also to try to do my best to learn swimming. It was not easy because every time I was thinking back to that event from childhood and maybe that made me to be very slow in learning.
Despite of that I am grateful for my teacher who took time and was very patient teaching me. Slowly I was able to swim but also to dive a bit, with holding my breath for short time. I am not an expert but I feel confident in water. I still will not go swimming in open water but I hope that I will be able to swim or float and not to drown.
I hope you also learnt something interesting today and I would like to invite @dave-hanny, @meriseptriyanti @djvijay for the contest.
