The Daily Food Shopping Game

Yesterday, I went to a famous department store in our town, "Reliance Kannan Department Store", to buy some household items. I went there at 9:00 in the morning, so there was no crowd in the store. This store has three floors: basement, ground floor, and first floor. The basement has cosmetics, cleaning products, home appliances, and fabrics. I first went to the basement to pick up cleaning products. Then I looked at the fabrics there.

Since the Pongal festival is next week, there were a lot of clothes on display, especially traditional fabrics, such as sarees for women, chuditars, and vests for men. The mannequins there were dressed in the same types of fabrics.

I first went to the household cleaning products section and picked up a fabric presser called Panies and put it in the trolley. Then I picked up bathroom cleaner, cleaner soap, shampoo, etc. When I was buying soap, there was a pack that said buy three soaps and get one free. It seemed like a good deal to me, so I picked it up.

There is also a cosmetics section with makeup products for women. I would go there and see if there were any products I needed. There were hair clips, lipstick, hair bands, nail polish, eyebrow mascara, etc., but I didn't buy anything because the prices were too high.

After that, I left there and took the lift to the upper floor. There, all the necessary items for the house were divided into different sections. First, I went to the section where there was oil and took the sunflower oil, coconut oil, ghee and gingerly oil needed for the kitchen. Then I went to the section next to it and took wheat flour, salt etc.

Nearby, there were only cookies, biscuits, snacks, etc. stacked up. I took the biscuits and cookies needed by the children. After that, I went to the stationery section nearby and took pens and pencils.

After that, I went to the section where the unpackaged and raw products were kept. There, the tamarind, dried chilies, chickpeas, grains, pulses, rice, etc. were kept in separate drums, weighed, and ready for sale. I inspected them all and found out their prices.

Then I took half a kilo of the ingredients I needed for my kitchen, such as lentils and chickpeas, and packed them. Then I also took dried chilies and tamarind and packed them. Then I gave them to the waiter, weighed them, and stuck a label on them.

After that, I pushed the cart, went to the billing section, gave the items I had taken, and billed them. I have purchased many items; the total amount was Rs 5750.00, almost $100. Then, I paid the amount, pushed the cart out, put it in the car, and came home.
