Today I will bake a roll with poppy seeds. I really like to eat such rolls with coffee or tea. My family also loves poppy seed rolls. That's why I often bake them.

The most important thing in this pastry is the filling and the right dough. There should be a lot of filling, and only a little dough. At the same time, it is important that the dough turns out to be tender and loose. The process itself is quite simple, no complicated manipulations. Poppy filling can be bought ready-made.

To prepare a roll with poppy seeds, I need the following ingredients:

100 ml. milk;
25 grams of yeast;
1 egg;
30 grams of butter;
100 grams of sugar;
flour - approximately 300-400 grams (how much the dough will take);
ready-made poppy filling.

I cover the yeast with sugar and mash it with a fork, pour in warm milk and stir until the sugar dissolves. Then I add the egg and melted butter.

I sift the flour and knead a not stiff dough. Then I cover the dough with a towel and wait an hour for it to rise.

I roll out the dough to a thickness of 0.5 cm, put the poppy filling on it and roll it into a roll. I brush it with egg yolk on top and sprinkle it with poppy seeds.

I bake my roll at 200 degrees for half an hour.
