There’s no love quite like the love for food. If you disagree, consider this: Have you ever felt let down by a meal you were excited about? What you truly enjoy eating is what you should be able to enjoy!
From Nigeria, I introduce you to Venezuelan cuisine.
What I enjoy most about this challenge is the chance to explore different foods from around the world. I'm really excited about it because it allows me to improve my cooking skills and enhance my abilities in various aspects of the culinary process.
1-What is new for you from the course, any spice or cooking technique or anything that you want to share?(2pts) |
---|
I don't find anything new about this dish. In my country, we have a similar dish called fried rice, which is made in almost the same way. The spices used here are also the same ones I use for fried rice, so I'm very familiar with them.
However, the cooking method is somewhat different. I noticed that the vegetables were added to the rice while it was still cooking. This is new to me because I prefer my veggies to stay crunchy rather than become soft. I believe it's important to retain the true flavor and nutrients of the vegetables, and cooking them too long can diminish that.
I usually add the vegetables at the end of my cooking process to keep that crunchy texture and taste.
2-Make the given recipe or any recipe that you like from Venezuela cuisine step by step in detail with pictures. Include your name tag with date in final presentation of recipe. (4 pts) |

3-Is your local cousin has any food that resembles with the shared recipe? (2pts) |
---|
Absolutely! My country has many dishes that resemble Venezuelan cuisine. We have fried rice, jollof mix rice, local jollof rice, and more.
The preparation is similar, but we have a unique method of keeping our vegetables crunchy by cooking them separately from the rice.
4-Which flavour or spice do you like from Venezuelan cuisine ?(1pt) |
---|
I believe I enjoy cumin and oregano since I've been incorporating them into all my meals recently. I think I would really like Worcestershire sauce, but sadly, I haven't used it in my cooking yet.
All the spices enhanced the flavor of my dishes beautifully. The chicken marinade was fantastic. When I tasted the fried chicken, it was incredible. I'm happy I used all the spices because my dish smelled wonderful.
