Baking is an amazing profession that exposes one to many dignitaries , I have been a lazy learner because I have an aunty and close friends who are making good money from baking , this learning is brought to me at the appropriate time and i wouldn't hesitate to make good use of it, The class is interesting, from what was discussed I'm here to present my homework.

After reading the basic terms of baking, I mentioned at least three basic terms used in baking that were not included in the list.

After the class I discovered that there are basic baking terms that are missing.

  • Chops . This is the process of cutting the mixed ingredients into desired shapes. Things like chin-chin and biscuits are some of the examples.

  • Whisking. This process is done using mixer or whisky to ensure all ingredients are properly mixed.

  • Greasing. This is done using vegetable oils or butter to rub in the pan so that the mold will come out well without breaking or sticking tight into the pan.

  • Blind baking. We can see this situation where a baker par bake the pie before adding filing like veggies.

✓ From the list of basic utensils mentioned, can you tell us which ones you have at home? Did I mention at least three utensils that you consider essential for baking and that you don't have at home? Share with us images of the utensils you have .

I have just few baking utensils at home , grater, pans, Rolling pin, sieve, whisky, cutting board.

  • Grater. This is very important in baking, it is used to grate ingredients like garlic, nutmeg and other soft items.

  • Rolling pin. This is a baking terms that is used for rolling dough in pasta, pizza and bread.

  • Sieve . This is a metal with small opening and handle that is used for sieving thing like flour or wheat in order to remove some impurities that can form lumps in the flour.

I don't have these ones at home.

  • Weighing scale.
  • Silicone Spatula.
  • Oven thermometer.

A good pastry chef is someone who is coordinated, creative, skillful, and curious of doing things differently, he takes risk to achieve certain goal.
Having tools as a chef is very necessary but the important thing about being a good pastry chef is having the knowledge and the techniques that is satisfying.

Conclusion.
