Found A Giant Mushroom!!! The biggest I’ve ever seen in front of my eyes!!!

Nature is full of surprises!

This morning, my brother-in-law found a huge mushroom growing on a tree bark in his garden, and it’s the biggest I’ve ever seen.

To give you an idea of its size, I placed my hand next to it while taking photos—it’s much bigger than my hands!

Curious to know more, I searched online and think it might belong to the boletus family, but I’m not completely sure.

It’s rare to see such a massive mushroom in Mauritius, so this find was exciting. Have you ever spotted something like this?

Not sure if edible…

Since I’m not sure if it’s edible, I won’t risk cooking it. Instead, I plan to place it in a woody area near my house and watch what happens.

Maybe it’ll attract insects, animals, or even grow further. Nature works in mysterious ways, and I’m eager to see the outcome.

A Closer Look

Mushrooms like these are fascinating because they play a key role in nature.

Growing on decaying wood, they help break it down and return nutrients to the soil.

A Word of Caution

Some mushrooms in the boletus family are edible and delicious, but others can be toxic. Always be cautious with wild mushrooms, and don’t eat them unless you’re absolutely certain they’re safe!
