What a pleasure to see SIC getting selected to host another season of Steemit Engagement Challenge and here I am, as promised, with my entry into the theme of this first week : Our Friend The Egg
As I know many participants will be sharing delicious recipes on eggs, I decided not to do any recipe on eggs for this week!!!
I am always sharing food recipes, isn't it!? Let read something different on my blog today! Hope you will appreciate it!
I will rather share some fun facts on Eggs...
So let's go to discover 5 fun facts and be amazed with our friend the egg!!!
Fun Fact 01 : Eggshells can come in various colors!!!

The most common colors are white and brown, that we all know!
Did you know that we also have blue, green, spotted and more colors eggshells naturally!???
The color of the eggshell is determined by the breed of the chicken.
Ps. The Color of the Shell of a Chicken Egg Does Not Affect Its Nutritional Value!!!
Fun Fact 02 : Floating Egg Test!
I think this one many of you already know about it...
To know if your egg are fresh before breaking it, you simply have to do a simple floating test!
If the egg floats in a bowl of water : It is likely old and may be rotten! Beware!!!
The main reason being; air cell inside an egg expands over time!
On the other hand, fresh eggs sink or stand upright at the bottom.
Fun Fact 03 : Egg Rolling Traditions!
In many countries, as part of Easter tradition, egg rolling is very popular!
Participants roll hard-boiled eggs down a hill, and the egg that travels the farthest without breaking is considered the winner!!!

Fun Fact 04 : Double Yolked Eggs!
Have you ever seen eggs having 2 yolks!? They are quite rare, occurring in about 1 in 1000 eggs!
These eggs typically come from young hens whose reproductive systems are still regulating.
Fun Fact 05 : World Egg Day!
Yeah...you read that right! We do have a special day for our friend The Egg!!!
World Egg Day is celebrated annually on the second Friday of October. It aims to raise awareness about the benefits of eggs and their importance in human nutrition.

Your content is really educative and full of discoveries. I have heard and witnessed most of the facts stated except breaking eggs and seeing double yolks. It is said that double yolks in egg is a sign of luck to the person that discover it, I don’t know how true that is 😃
Fun Fact number 2 (Floating Egg Test), is what I use most time during large baking. Instead of breaking egg one after the other into separate bowls, I rather pour all into water and select the floating eggs out.
