I do not believe that I have previously met this species of grasshopper.

While enjoying some time along a creek recently, we began seeing some interesting green grasshoppers. They had black stripes on their back legs which reminded me of Iguana tails, and a bright yellowish line down the center of their backs and heads. I don't recall ever seeing such a creature previously. We decided to gather and photograph a couple, so this is round one of the posts I'll be sharing.

Does anyone know which species this is? Have you ever seen this kind of grasshopper. Some were rather big, probably over three inches in length. Here's the photos of the first one. Enjoy
