In all religions, the ultimate concern for life involves an understanding of death. Most religions have adopted the concept of the soul, believing that the human body is only a temporary existence, like the passage of time, while the soul is eternal.

Different religions have different interpretations of where the soul belongs. Some religions hold that after death, the soul goes to heaven or hell, depending on what it did in life. Some religions believe that the soul will enter reincarnation and enter a new body. Early Buddhism explicitly denied the existence of the soul and put forward the concept of no self. But in later development, in order to accommodate the views of ordinary believers, Buddhism more or less acknowledged the existence of a constant self.

From a scientific point of view, since modern scientific research methods can only study and form theories on detectable matter, most scientists do not believe that there is a soul, or even recognize self-consciousness, believing that self-consciousness is merely an illusion produced by neural activity. Although these conclusions seem scientific, they are also limited by the limitations of scientific research methods.

It is worth noting that there are still some people with a scientific background who believe that the soul exists. Today's book, Death Does Not Exist, by Japanese author Hiroshi Tanaka, makes a similar argument to Nobel Prize winner Roger Penrose, but with more substance. The book argues that a person's consciousness, or soul, is quantum and does not die, but continues to exist in the quantum field, the vacuum zero field.

The vacuum zero field is the quantum field mentioned in the book "The Incredible Ocean" I read not long ago, and the basic particles that make up our world and ourselves are just fluctuations in the quantum field. These fluctuations not only affect our real world, but also follow the arrow of time into the future, while recording all the events that have occurred. When we die, consciousness returns to this vacuum zero field and becomes part of its record.

Although this theory seems simple, the author uses this theory to explain some supernatural phenomena, such as past life memories, psychic media, and so on. Although it may not be strictly scientific, it has great thinking value and makes people think deeply. I'll talk to you another day.
