约翰是这些人里离正义最接近的人，做赏金猎人如果只是为了钱或者发泄暴力，他完全不用执着于什么留活口然后亲眼看着执刑官吊死罪犯，而这正是他对正义的追求。虽然谨慎到多疑的地步而且态度粗暴让人观感不佳，但他实际所做的事情却没一件是符合恶人形象的。
