Hello Steemians. @damisvilladiego organized a beautiful contest for the week with the title "obedience"
Obedience is a virtue everyone needs to cultivate and imbibe for everyday living.
It is the quality of complying with rules and regulations given by a higher authority willingly, without resistance
In our society, many people find it difficult to obey authorities, even the simplest rules and regulations often lead to gross rebellion among individuals.
Traffic rules, school rules and even health rules which are all clearly for our benefit seem to pose a challenge on individuals.
Most times, people obey a rule just to escape punishment which is a really wrong motive and doesn't even count as true obedience.
Obedience starts from the home, when parents train children to obey and establish certain rules at home making sure that these rules are not overstepped and be firm with it, children can grow to be exemplary youths and adults in future.
It is also important that parents are not too rigid or overly permissive with rules. Rigidity can lead to growing rebels at home or raising children with morbid fear in them and being overly permissive or lax in character can lead to raising children with the "I don't care" attitude.

TYPES OF OBEDIENCE
Blind obedience
Here, an individual simply obeys without even considering the reasons behind. He is not interested or may not even know why he is obeying and what benefits he stands to gain from obeying. He just does it because he sees others do or he just feels inclines to do so. This also doesn't seem like the right way to obey. It is important to know the reasons behind obedience and what benefits we derive. This will in turn motivate an individual to do better
Forced obedience
As the name implies and individual is forced and is under compulsion to obey. Perhaps he didn't obey at first and has been punished and then he has no other choice but to obey. This obedience is not done willingly, he may or may not know the benefits but he clearly doesn't want to obey until after the punishment or whatever form of coercion is applied.
Intelligent obedience
An individual here understands the reason why he must obey, he has logical reasoning and is principled. This is the right way to obey as the individual is doing so willingly and will derive joy from doing so.
Finally, obedience to authorities whether at home, school, offices or the government is crucial and will lead to reduced conflict, social harmony and improved relationships
As we grow older we see valid reasons obedient is important, sometimes we might not fully understand why an order is been pass but with time when we come to realize how we have benefited from obeying that command we will be proud we did, we obey rules not just because of the implications of not obeying but because it can safe of from ruining something we might not be able to fix
