Namaste Steem Family,
The storytelling contest is a great addition to this season. Among all the engagement challenges, this specific challenge caught my attention. Therefore, let's begin.
Scene #1
A sharp jolt suddenly hit the astronaut as he was testing the equipment in his area when he was doing a routine check of it. He looked around to see that he had become detached from the International Space Station.
He tried to grab onto something, anything, but there was nothing to grab onto.
In the vast nothingness of space, the astronaut floated slowly at first but accelerated as he moved further away from the station's safety.
He could see the Space Station off in the distance, getting smaller and smaller as he floated further away.
The man was aware that he was running out of oxygen and had a limited amount of time. In an attempt to get help, he shouted for assistance, but his radio didn't work. His voice was not going to be heard by anyone, as there was no way anyone would be able to hear it without the radio.
Floating in the vastness of space, he was all alone. It was obvious that he wouldn't be able to reach the station again.
In the aftermath of all his struggles, It didn't take him long for him to start feeling weaker and he could see that his vision was starting to fade.
A part of him knew that he would die soon.
Scene #2
His eyes opened a few moments later, and he was surprised to see that he was awake.
In the distance, he saw a bright light and immediately started heading in that direction. Although he did not understand what it was, he knew that it was his only hope.
It was only after he got closer that he realized the light was coming from a spaceship.
Using the thrusters from his suit, he was able to slow his speed, and he was able to reach a very close distance to the spaceship very slowly.
Having chosen an easy-to-grab area, he swam toward it and despite trying to slow down using the strength of his thrusters, he crashed onto the hull of the spacecraft.
Now all he could do was bang on the hull to get the attention of the people inside the vessel.
Despite banging on the hull for several minutes, he didn't receive any response.
There was a small opening within the spaceship, protected by a thick glass sheet. He tried to look through the opening, but he was shocked to find that nothing was left of the crew, only the lifeless bodies of the people inside.
In a frightened state, he carefully stepped inside the spaceship through the door leading to the airlock chamber, the heart pounding in his chest as he made his way in.
The first thing that caught his attention was the amount of blood on the floor. In a state of shock, he could not believe what he had seen. There was a lot of it everywhere, splattered all over the walls, gathered on the floor, and pooled everywhere.
In the middle of all this were the lifeless bodies of the crew members. The expressions on their faces indicated a sense of shock. It was the first time he had seen anything like it in his life. Their deaths were the result of a violent struggle.
Who had killed them, and why had they been killed? And where was the killer now? He thought to himself. In such a situation, he was unsure of what to do.
In his search for signs of life, he looked around, but there was nothing to be seen.
As he stared around, trying to piece together the events that led to the massacre, all he could think of was chaos. Although he didn't know how long he stood there, eventually, he came to his senses and realized that he had to find out what had happened.
Scene #3
A loud noise suddenly echoed behind him. His body froze. It sounded like it was coming from inside the ship, but he was unsure what it was. To find out where the noise was coming from, he slowly made his way toward it.
His heart was in his throat as he peered around a corner and saw a person standing in the hallway.
With the beard and a scar on his cheek, he looked like a big mean guy. In one hand, he held a knife, and in the other, a pistol.
As soon as the man saw him, he raised the pistol and fired it. As he fired, the bullet grazed the side of his cheek, and he fell to the ground. In the course of its passage, he felt the warmth of the bullet. The man now ran towards him, as he raised his knife in preparation for a fight.
The only choice for the astronaut was to run the other way, towards the exit, as fast as he could.
His ears were on high alert for the footsteps of the man behind him, getting closer and closer. When he turned another corner, he was able to see the exit on the other side.
As he sprinted towards the exit, the man crashed into him from behind, knocking him to the ground.
The story is not finished, but let there be an element of suspense. You need to host another contest like this if you want to know what happened next.
LOL.
