Greetings my friends!
This is a topic that nobody wants to talk about or even remember! If we lose our loved one this is a topic that could bring painful memories. But as the organizers rightly said this is a journey which is inevitable. If someone is born in this world they must end this life someday, that is a fact!
Do you believe in life after death? |
---|
Life after death is a controversial subject in many religions and cultures. It is obvious that nobody knows what is real! Yet, we tend to believe whatever we have been taught in our childhood.
I grow up in a Buddhist culture and learned Buddhism as a religious subject. Therefore, I have a strong belief in life after death. We as Buddhists believe that death is just a transition from one form of existence to another.
We believe a lot in Karma & Samsara, the basic learning of it is that, what we do now will pass on to our next existence as a merit or demerit. Acts of merit bring good results caucusing happiness to our next life while demeritorious acts bring bad and harmful results.
It’s a complicated subject for whoever read this for the first time, but it is simply trying to say that we have to make our actions good in order to have a good life in our next life.
Do you think of death as something natural, or do you avoid everything related to this subject? |
---|
Daily we can see someone dying. It can be on the road as an accident, it can be in our neighborhood, or even at the dinner time when we watch the daily news. So, I don’t think anyone can avoid it. We have to face it every day. Only thing is that when we are not attached to the person who demises we don’t feel sadness. It is that much natural part of our lives.
Since everybody must prepare for this day, I think we should accept the reality of life and live a fulfilling and meaningful life while we are here. Death can be a good reminder to make the most of the present moment and live an enjoyable life.
Have you ever been in a situation that put you at risk of death, what did you feel? |
---|
Well, I have never been in a such situation that put me at risk of death! I’m not the most adventurous person so I rarely take any risks with my life. Even if I go to a swimming pool, I’m comfortable on the shallow end 🙈
However, death has many faces so eventually one day I will have to face it. I hope I will have the luck and courage to say “not today!” to the goddess of death.
How do you want to be remembered after death? |
---|
I will try to be remembered as a good human being who loved and helped others. I always try to live my life in a way that I can help others. My profession is a beautician so if someone remembers me “oh this is the girl who made me beautiful” would be the words I would cherish even in death.
In conclusion, Buddhism is the predominant religion in my country Sri Lanka. Every Buddhist believes in life after death. This life is just one stop of a very long journey. Whatever the good thing we do will determine the next stop. Therefore living a meaningful and fulfilling life is very important. Eventually, when the day comes, we can accept the next journey. When that happens, I want my loved ones to be remembered me as a beautician who made a positive impact on people's lives.
I would like to invite my friends @dove11 , @mini80 and @abril2204 to join the contest.

Life after death is real. Death is inevitable. If everyone has that in mind on daily basis, we will all live a purpose driven life.
I wish you well in your entry.

I think sometime we forget about death and try to live as we are living eternally! You are correct death should be reminded daily and then everyone will have a different views on life.
