Local beliefs about three(3) pets(puppy,duck,cat) in Enugu state , Nigeria by @dlioness (set at 100% power up)

What an interesting contest from @fur-friends community, this has really made me pause for some while to think of the different stories I have heard people tell about some pets, with the little knowledge I had about pets from our neighbour back then in my father's house when we were still little I can still tell little or more about some pets ;





While we were growing, my dad bought a puppy and wanted to raise him as pet and later as security guard, then my mum would keep telling him to sell it off reasons been that the puppy has a bad omen and is known for corruption, maybe she thinks the dog would wake up one midnight to defile one of us(laughter ........) to me that sounds funny but never changed anything until one day the dog became ill and died of it, could I say my mum's prayer killed it(Smiles.....),

And it's been told that applying dogs eye pores  on a human's eye make the human see spirits and that can be detrimental to life,I've not tried doing that but that's what people believe,





Another pet is the   duck  , in my state it's been believed that the duck is not a normal kind of bird, they said it turns to snake when been covered with a basket and can still turn back to duck when covered again, I don't know how true this can be but I have heard people say it and due to that belief we don't hatch duck as we hatch fowl and we don't use it as a normal kind of bird;

The  cat  is another pet that is believed to be used for witchcraft activities, most families don't allow cat into their house because they see it as an agent of darkness that can manipulate or be used for initiation or evil in the house, this belief has gone viral that even the kids now have the notion that cats are evil,

This contest has really taken my mind back and has made me remember certain things I think I have forgotten or things  I don't bring into consideration on a weekly basis and I hope to read from others write ups to gain their own view in this pets  belief.
