A web designer is a graphic artist who creates layout, usability, and visual appearance of a website while A web developer is someone who builds and maintains the core structure of a website. A good web designer must have good skills in creativivity, graphics and technical inclined.

In web designing we only need two key things a text editor and a browser examples of text editors are Notepad, Sublime text, Virtual studio code (many prefer visual studio because its user friendly, browser are used to view the end product examples; UC Mini, Mozilla firefox, Google Chrome, Opera mini and last but not the least Hosting of the website.

The big question is; how can one get the software for web designing? you can download the software of your choice but due to simpleness of Virtual studio code, we'll be using it as an example, click hereto view or download the software.

There are two types of website which is static and the dynamic website.

Static Website :

As the name implies Static in a simple way, static means stagnant, something that is not moving or doesn't change position) but technically it means a website that displays the same content any time you visit it. We use languages like Html( hypertext mark-up language),Css(cascading style sheet) and Javascript for this and its much easier to create.
A simple example of static website are forms, documentation, Website presentations and Newsletter Contents.

Dynamic Website :

Dynamic means ability to move so it is a website that displays different types of content every time a user views it. The language used here is mostly PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) or any other scripting language because they are server dependent and its much harder to create because it uses advanced programming.

As you go into Web designing, there are terms that you can come across frequently, they are;

Website :

This is a collection of web pages which are connected together in various ways and can be traced to a common URL.

Webpage :

A webpage is a part of a website which means that a website contains different web pages. Such as Google Chrome is a website, and the page currently you are accessing is the webpage. A book can be used as an example; a Website is like a complete book, and a webpage is like a page of that book, these documents are written in HTML and are translated by your web browser and they also make up the World Wide Web.

Http :

This stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is an application layer protocol in the Internet set of rules for distributing, collaborating, hypermedia information systems, where hypertext documents include hyperlinks to other resources that the user can easily get to, for example by click a mouse or tapping the screen in a web browser for transferring files (texts, graphics, images, sounds, videos and other multimedia files) on the World Wide Web.
