Greetings amazing members of siz-official community, I hope everyone is hearty and healthy as for me I couldn't be better and it's with joy I join our community latest "Educate Us About Green Tea And Its Benefits" Contest. I really appreciate the great minds behind this awesome community, for always organizing an educative contest like this to keep us active. In this contest I will be writing about what green tea is, the origin of green tea, types of green tea, the benefits of green tea, the potential risk of the tea and lastly how to drink green tea. For many centuries people used to hailed the health benefits of green tea and research indicates that drinking green tea may have positive effects on weight loss, skin health and can reduce the risks of cardiovascular diseases. Before I delve into the health benefits of green tea let me give you a brief history about this healthy tea and what it is.

WHAT IS GREEN TEA?

Green Tea are those leaves harvested from the camellia sinensis plant, and then The leaves be heated quickly by steaming or pan firing to dried to prevent oxidation from occuring. And by doing this green leaves will turn brown thus altering their fresh pick flavor.
After brewing green tea the color will t either yellow, light brown or green, and it's flavor range from seaweed-like and (steam) grass-like to toasted(pan-fired).
Do you know? Green Tea And black tea has the same origin, They're from the camellia sinensis, the difference between this two is how the leaves is processed, making it a green or black tea.

ORIGIN OF GREEN TEA

Though different countries in the world have grown and produces green tea, countries like India, China, Bangladesh, Japan, Sri-lanka, South Carolina, Hawaii, Taiwan, and New-zealand. But China (China's Yunnan province) is considered, and believe to be the original originator of green tea. Infact of the 300+ varieties of tea, 260 of it can be found in Yunnan.

One of the popular legend in China suggest that shennong the emperor of China is the inventor of Chinese medicine and he discovered tea as a beverage back to 2737 BC. Other credits 2 Buddhist who used to travel between India and China spreading their culture, religion and ritual tea. The Buddhist monk used to grew, harvested, and produce tea jus like Catholic European monasteries did with grapes and wine. The monk used to drink tea for physical refreshment, to substitute alcohol and aid their meditation.

Green Tea spread in Japan back 1190BC when zen priest called Eisai who studied in China's great Buddhist monasteries and Temple return to Japan with tea seeds and bushes, he's the one who spread the custom of drinking tea throughout the rest of Japan. Till date China and Japan remain the top 2 green tea producers and exporters.

TYPES OF GREEN TEA

CHINESE GREEN TEA - (PAN-FIRED): this is the process where tea leaves heated in a pan, basket or Mechanized rotating drum to stop oxidation process. The firing may also take place in metal drums or other containers over electric heat, charcoal, hot air or gas flame this will determine the final flavour outcome.
some Chinese popular pan-fired includes the dragonwell and the gunpower.

JAPANESE GREEN TEAS - (STEAM) The Japanese used to steam their teas leaves Briefly After it being pluck to halt oxidation process and to maintain the rich green color in the tea and the final brewed.
Steaming Process create uniquely flavour ranging from sweet, seaweed-like to vegetal. Some Japanese green tea is includes Matcha, Gyokoro, Sencha, Hojicha and Genmaicha.etc.

Green Tea doesn't taste the same though it comes from the same species of plants this is because of how it is being processed, cultivate, and the time being pluck and how the plant is prune. The part of the plant being pluck, the size of the leaves how it is grown and treated, is it chemically or organically and lastly the kind of heat that is applied to the tea leaves to stop oxidation and the Major determinants of green tea taste.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF GREEN TEA:

  • It aids weight loss process because of its anti-inflammatory properties so drinking green tea in combination with exercise have great effect and good results.
  • it increased satiety: it's helps one to feel Fuller for longer period of time does help in consuming less calories.
  • it lowers the risk of heart disease it works on lining of blood vessels helping in keeping them relax and better to withstand changes in blood pressure. it protects against formation of clots which are the major cause of heart attack.
  • it is known to reduce the risk of esophageal cancer and it also generally kills any cancer cells without causing any damage to the outer tissue around them.

  • it reduces the bad cholesterol (LDL)
  • Green tea delayed effects of Alzheimer's/ Parkinson's frequent drinking of green tea help to reduce the risk of dementia which is memory loss.
  • it's lost tooth decay uprisings of antibacterial properties like polyphenols, flavonoids catechins make this possible.
  • it lowers blood pressure: it reduces the risk of high blood pressure both the systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure.
  • it has antidepressant properties which helps to lower levels of depression in both young and old.
  • antiviral properties: the presence of Catechin makes green tea effective for treating variety of infectious disease. Though it may not prevent someone from contacting viral infection but it helps to reduce their undesirable effects, which is great and amazing green tea benefits.

HOW MUCH GREEN TEA SHOULD YOU DRINK

2 cups a day morning and evening should be sufficient.

THE POTENTIAL RISKS OF DRINKING GREEN TEA

There is caffeine in green tea so if you're allergic to caffeine limit your intake of green tea to one cup a day. it also contains tannins which decreases the absorption of iron and folic acid so if you're trying to conceive or pregnant green tea is not ideal for you.

HOW TO DRINK GREEN TEA

boil water to 💯 the water into tea cup add a sachet of tea and let it steep for 3 minutes then remove the subject and enjoy it you can also mix all the all the ingredients like ginger or apple cider vinegar.
I especially used to enjoyed mine with apple cider vinegar.
