Greetings and hello everyone!
I hope you all are doing well and are safe and sound from this pandemic situation going on. So, this is going to be my first post here in this #steemit community, which was introduced to me by my friend, @vvarishayy, and I hope it will be a beneficial read for everyone who gets to read it. So, let’s jump right into it with no further delay.
I have planned to discuss in-depth Artificial Intelligence and its types, and I will be shortly uploading more posts talking about it, so don’t miss out on them!
So today, I will be going to talk about three things:
• What do we mean by Artificial Intelligence?
• How does AI relate to Human Natural Intelligence?
• What is the purpose of AI?
INTRODUCTION TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE:
Source
The term Artificial Intelligence was first coined by a cognitive scientist, Marvin Minsky, at Dartmouth College in 1956 and it has made some progressions since the past 7 decades. Though it still doesn’t have a proper definite definition, due to it being dynamic and also there’s always a difference of opinion and perspective of different scientists when it comes to the basic definition of AI. But still, a basic and robust definition, which can be stated, for now, to make the reader understand what they’re diving deep into, can be given as:
“Artificial Intelligence is about machines and computer programs which can imitate Human Natural Intelligence.”
Now, you might think “Human Natural Intelligence, you say? What does that mean?”, well, I’ve got you covered regarding that too.
INTRODUCTION TO HUMAN NATURAL INTELLIGENCE:
It is a complex term to be explained in just a single sentence. It is basically a multi-dimensional and broad phenomenon, composed of multiple intelligences, which are stated as follows:
- Logical and Mathematical Intelligence: the ability to solve logical problems, mathematical operations, and calculations/ to recognize periodic patterns/ to think conceptually.
- Verbal and Linguistic Intelligence: the ability to words/ writing, reading, and speaking.
- Visual and Spatial Intelligence: The ability to visualize things/ to interpret pictures, charts, and maps.
- Interpersonal and Social Intelligence: the ability to understand other people/ access their emotions, motivations, desires, and intentions/ being able to relate to people and interact with them.
- Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence: the ability of physical movement and co-ordination/ motor-control/ being good at dancing and sports/ creating things with your hands/ remembering while doing.
- Musical and Rhythmic Intelligence: the ability to recognize musical patterns, rhythms, and sounds/ to sing and play instruments.
- Intrapersonal and Intro-perspective Intelligence: the ability to be aware of one’s own emotional states, feelings, and motivations.
- Naturalistic Intelligence: the ability to identify, classify and manipulate elements of the environment, objects, animals, or plants.
- Existential Intelligence: the ability to think critically who are unafraid to challenge the norm/ the big picture thinking.
- Creative Intelligence: the ability to solve problems by imagining new and unique solutions.
and many more types.
In short, multiple intelligences are all branched with human acting and human thinking.

And also, different types of AI are reflecting these multiple intelligences, i.e human thinking, and acting. That is how both AI and HNI are related/connected.
PURPOSE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE:
There are two major purposes of AI, which are as followed:
- REPLACING HUMANS: By partially replacing human thinking and acting by machines and computer programs, providing ease to humans.
- AUGMENTING: This means supporting and strengthening human thinking and acting, by combining the strength of humans with those of machines.
Source
CONCLUSION:
After studying the following theory, we can finally come up with a consolidated definition of AI, which is:
“AI is imitating as well as augmenting sometimes partially replacing human thinking and human acting by machines or computer programs.”
Source
So, this is it for today, I will be talking about types of AI in my next post, so until then, stay safe and healthy and follow the SOPs, folks.
Ciao!
Good one Post dear friend you make a very good post thanks for sharing a good information with us my best wishes for you.
