INTRODUCTION

Information Technology known in common parlance as IT refers to the use of computers, electronics or any other telecommunication system to create, store, retrieve or exchange information. The emergence of IT has contributed immensely to man's growth and development. Since humans are creative beings, it seems almost impossible for them to live without Information Technology. Hence, this ultimately suggests that they will always find a way to make life better for themselves and their fellow humans.

It is certain that change, whether positive or negative, is a natural and inevitable phenomenon. For this reason, it is pertinent to try to understand what life will be like without this ultra-modern development known as Information Technology. Sudden inaccessibility to IT has its pros and cons to the world at large but for this contest, I will narrow it down to how this will affect my life.

MY LIFE WITHOUT IT

A life without IT presupposes living without a functional phone, TV set, radio, and most importantly, not being able to access Steemit. Thoughts of it send chills down my spine as these things play important roles in my life otherwise I could be that little girl who helps her mother prepare taffeta clothes to sell on Udua Itam market day. Or that skilled chantor or bard whose major preoccupation will be to sing praise poetry all day long. I could spice it up by recounting the genealogy of a family during their ceremony. There is still a glimpse of hope as this does not sound bad at all.

BENEFIT AND EFFECTS
Contrary to popular beliefs, I think that my life will still move on fine — probably more define compared to now. The reason is predicated on the fact that like every other youth of this era, I am usually stuck with my phone from dawn to dusk. At most times, I am either writing with my desktop or phone. Other times, I am glued to the screens of these devices while I make research on what to write on. If this is not the case, then I am playing a game and the circle keeps going on and on. Sincerely, I lose contact with the natural world daily since a lot of all my interactions with family, friends and acquaintances are now based on these physical devices used to exchange information. If by peradventure IT somehow disappears into thin air, chances are that my physical relationship will improve. The COVID-19 experience had brought me to this reality.

On the other hand, I feel that there will be no individual growth. IT plays a crucial role in self-development and so it is a major part of my life probably because of the age and time I exist in. Imagine what is bound to happen if I can not enrol in online certificate courses. How about not being able to participate in that life-changing webinar I attended yesterday from the comfort of my home. What great knowledge that would be lost! Knowledge is said to be power and IT gives room for information and knowledge to be exchanged quickly and cheaply as well.

Also, there will be a decline in my passion as it is observed that the internet provides a large space for most written works to be circulated. Steemit offers people the opportunity to develop their writing skills while they earn in the process. Chances are that the absence of Information Technology will limit the amount of information that is relayed to a limited audience.

CONCLUSION
In all, I believe that life will not become worse for me if IT ceases to exist in my life. This is because I am a creative person and will surely make the most out of life come what may. Meanwhile, let's pray that this does not happen anytime soon because I will miss the experience of being a phone call away from anyone anywhere in the world.
