Like a wild, feathered lion's mane.... but on a bird, LOL!
Although we harvest and eat these creatures, we do admire them and appreciate them. I often stand in awe at some of the creatures out there, and find them to be incredibly impressive when I'm able to really get a closer look at them. These photos were taken while we were preparing to cull our extra roosters. We've already eaten some by this point, and trust me, they are delicious. Anyway, here's another handful of some beautiful birds to enjoy! We hope you like them!
Here in Broken Arrow Oklahoma, they made their income with eggs in the 1930s. Every spring, they had a city wide fair, where they met, and ate the extra roosters. Rooster day is still observed here with a fair, even though the roosters are long gone!
