This photo is of a poppy plant with seedheads cut off, probably by the local dopers. They cut the heads and grind up them up to extract opium. At least that's what I think. I know the area, and while the area is pretty decent, it's always had addicts. It's suburban, but used to be agricultural, and always had some drugs going on.
I'm putting it here instead of the flower photo community because there's no flower. It's more about what the absence of the heads might represent. Other people might have a different interpretation.
