Hallo liebe Community,
vor einigen Wochen war ich mit einem Freund zum Drift Taxi Fahren am Hockenheim Ring. Das war mein Geschenk an ihn zum 50ten Geburtstag. Man fährt als Beifahrer im Drifttaxi ca. 10 Minuten als Beifahrer mit und steht eigentlich durchgehend quer. Und das in einem Höllentempo! Wirklich cool und hat extrem Spaß gemacht. Würde ich ja selbst mal als Fahrer probieren aber dafür ist mir mein Auto dann doch zu schade, denn ich würde es sicher gegen die Wand setzen. Insgesamt dauert das ganze ca. 3 Stunden, denn vor und nach der Fahrt hält man sich im Fahrerlager auf, schaut sich die Farzeuge an und beobachtet die Teilnehmer auf der Rennstrecke. Den meisten Autos sieht man an, dass sie schon etliche Einheiten auf dem Kurs auf dem Buckel haben. Manche hatten überhaupt keine Stoßstange mehr. Gerade an der Mauer links auf den Bildern driften die guten Fahrer in einem Abstand von ein paar Zentimetern in vollem Tempo vorbei. Da schlägt halt auch mal einer ab und zu ein. Passiert ist aber eigentlich nichts, weder Fahrern noch Fahrzeugen. Konnten alle weiter fahren, hatten eben ein Paar Schrammen und Dellen mehr.
Wir fuhren in einem alten BMW M3 mit 350 PS mit, der sah aus wie neu im Gegensatz zu den anderen Racern. Aber unser fahrer macht das eben auch professionell im Gegensatz zu den meisten andern Teilnehmern.
Das war wirklich eine tolle Erfahrung die ich nicht missen möchte. Bin jetzt am Überlegen ob ich das meinem Sohn zum 18ten Geburtstag schenken soll. Aber da ist mir das Risiko vermutlich etwas zu groß, dass er gefallen daran finden könnte und dann auf dumme Ideen kommt :-)

a few weeks ago I went with a friend to drive a drift cab at the Hockenheim Ring. This was my gift to him for his 50th birthday. You ride as a passenger in the drift cab for about 10 minutes and actually stand crosswise throughout. And that at a hell of a pace! Really cool and extremely fun. I would try it myself as a driver but then my car is too bad for that, because I would surely put it against the wall. In total, the whole thing lasts about 3 hours, because before and after the ride you stay in the paddock, look at the Farzeuge and watch the participants on the track. Most of the cars you can see that they already have quite a few units on the course under their belt. Some had no bumper at all. Especially at the wall on the left side of the pictures the good drivers drift past at full speed in a distance of a few centimeters. So one of them hits the wall from time to time. But nothing happened, neither to the drivers nor to the vehicles. They were all able to drive on, just had a few more scratches and dents.
We drove in an old BMW M3 with 350 HP, which looked like new in contrast to the other racers. But our driver does it professionally, unlike most of the other participants.
That was really a great experience that I would not want to miss. Am now thinking about whether I should give my son for his 18th birthday. But since the risk is probably a bit too big for me, that he might like it and then gets stupid ideas :-)
