Uranus is called "the strangest planet" in the solar system due to its lateral rotation and not being available on a real surface. However, a new discovery has added more mystery to the strange ice giant.
And according to the British newspaper "Daily Mail", astronomers discovered X-rays coming from Uranus for the first time.
"X-rays from comets, Venus, Earth, Mars, Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter were previously discovered ... but for the first time they are being discovered coming from an ice giant, such as Uranus," she added.
The discovery came after researchers looked at data from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory in 2002 and 2017.
"The data highlighted the clear detection of x-rays from the first observation," they said in a statement.
The team of scientists is likely that the rings surrounding Uranus produce X-rays, similar to those of Saturn, and they believe that they come from twilight as it happens on Jupiter.
"Identifying X-ray sources from Uranus could help astronomers better understand how foreign objects are launched into space, such as growing black holes and neutron stars," the source said.
